I adore Brussels sprouts. They're my favorite vegetable. The best way to eat them, in my opinion, is tossed in garlic infused olive oil and Parmesan cheese then roasted.

I’m on a ship, and tonight I will have the lamb dish. Unfortunately for me, Brussel sprouts are a side. I will ask them to hold the Brussel sprouts.

When I was about 4 or 5, my mom wouldn't let me get up from the table until I ate my Brussel Sprouts. I sat there forever. I wanted to go outside and play so I finally took a bite. And promptly threw up all over the table.

She never made me try anything I didn't want to try again. (It was the smell and still is.)

I LOVE them! 🥰 I cut them in half or quarters. I also like to shred some of the outer leaves off and scatter them on the baking tray. Toss with extra virgin olive oil that has some flavor, until well coated. Add salt & pepper & garlic powder (or real garlic.) Then roast in the oven. under the broiler setting. Stir them up about half way through. Sprinkle on some grated Parmesan cheese about 5 minutes before taking out of the oven. Broil until many of the leaves get crunchy and some are brown and TOASTED. It adds a wonderful charred flavor. 🥰

I broil broccoli in a similar way. I like when the broccoli tops are a bit charred & toasted.

halved and then sauteed in olive oil with bacon bits until carmelized and add balsamic glaze and top with shredded parmesian cheese.. tasty !! roasting works too.
Actually the (bitter) taste is linked to a genetic trait. Probably an ancient trait that kept people from eating toxic plants......not that brussels sprouts are toxic..lol

I hated Brussels Sprouts as a kid and teen. Probably because my mother boiled them to death, the way my father insisted.

About 30 years ago I discovered I liked them. Roasted, sauteed, etc.

For a quick fix I buy boxed frozen Green Giant Baby Brussels Sprouts in Butter Sauce.

Summer of 2023 I grew Brussels Sprouts in my garden and had an over abundance.
