I don’t hate the LOOK of wallpaper but it’s such a pain to uninstall that I have vowed “never again.”

When we moved into our first house, there was wallpaper in several rooms. Taking it down caused serious damage to the drywall that had to repaired. We thought “the stupid previous owners must not have put it up correctly!” We replaced the wallpaper on one accent wall and I KNOW we prepared the wall according to recommendations/installed it correctly. Several years later we decided to change the decor and we still had an AWFUL time getting that paper down (it didn’t damage the wall, but it certainly didn’t come down easily!) At that point, which is over 20 years ago now, i said “never again!” and I’ve stuck to that!

Our house had wallpaper in several rooms when we moved in. Over the years we have taken it all down though. The room that I liked it the most in was our upstairs bathroom and would have left it, except that when we had to get a new toilet, we found that they had just wallpapered around the old one, so there was bare wall showing after the replacement.

I don't like it and have none.
I've always had a theory that the ONLY person who likes the pattern is the person who chose it!
It is a pain to take off.
Having said all that, I did put up a ceiling border in my daughter's room when she was younger.
But when you purchase a home/condo and have to remove it, THAT is reason enough to not have it!!!!

I like it, although I’ve never had it in a home of my own, with the exception of a border in DS’s nursery many years ago. It was ubiquitous in my childhood home and was changed out, along with the paint, every few years as my mother’s tastes changed. “Re-doing things” was the term she used and it was a great source of enjoyment to her. I just now spent a few happy moments remembering some of the iterations of my childhood bedroom and the loving care she put into making it nice. :lovestruc

Wallpaper is actually really trending back in right now. We’re moving and I’m planning the decor for the new place. I’ve got my eyes open for just the right wallpaper to do a feature wall in the dining area. :goodvibes

I don't like it. Growing up we had it in every room of our house. I remember the living room had a flocked damask pattern in old gold, and my sister and I were constantly getting into trouble for picking at the flocking. My childhood bedroom was wallpapered in an eye-watering pink, orange, and gold floral pattern. I guess I didn't think about it then, being a kid wallpaper wasn't on my radar (except to pick the flocking off the living room walls,) but as an adult I'd rather paint. It's way easier to change out when you get bored.

Currently, we only have wallpaper in one room of our house. Our finished basement's laundry room was originally done in a 'garden theme,' so two of the walls have a horrible ivy on a trellis pattern from the 50s on them. It's stained and peeling, and on our list of Things That Have To Go that we've been following for about two years now. We've started painting the basement walls so that it's more cohesive to the Irish pub look we've got going down there, but scraping wallpaper is a PITA, so we've left it until the last possible minute.

No wallpaper in my house but I’m not opposed to it.

My parents had some really hideous wallpaper when I was growing up. Some rooms were more elegant, but the foyer and kitchen screamed tacky. My sister’s bedroom was velvet flocked.

My living room has textured wallpaper that has been painted over. I didn’t even remember the wallpaper until the electricians cut a flap before cutting into the wall.

I have never had wallpaper. I like some designs but worry about getting it off.

Had some as a kid. None as an adult. I'd be into it if it could easily be removed with no damage. Instead, some people already use in-home projection technology as in Disney parks, where you project images onto your walls, and that way, the images are easy to change often. I haven't used this, but it looks like a cool idea!

Our house had some when we bought it 40 years ago. We removed some, and added some over the years. No wallpaper anymore. So I guess we had no issue with wallpaper, but we don't want it anymore.

I don't particularly mind wallpaper. When we bought our house (many years ago) every room had wallpaper on at least one wall. Over the years we've removed it and repainted.

I asked my sister if she remembered the ugly wallpaper in our bedroom, and she sent me this:

This is 1976, and that's me in the front age 8. And man, is that air conditioner dirty or what?

Have it only in a hallway and up the staircase. No crazy prints, just a textured beige that from a distance you may not even realize is wallpaper. It came with the house and we’ve considered removing it, but know it would be a difficult job and think it looks fine. All the bedrooms and kitchen had wallpaper when we moved in; all have been redone with paint several times.

I like it, but only have experience removing it from smooth plaster walls, which was not bad at all. I chose not to put any up in a house with sheet rock walls.

I don’t have wall paper but do have one border that has to come down in the living room. I had them almost in very room but every room has been touched but that room . I do like though.

I‘m trying really hard not to go back to country themes again. I had a lot of signs but don’t anymore.
