Other - I think I last made sun tea back in the mid 90s. Like the summer of 95. Like when I lived with my parents and people did stuff like that.

I do have a sun tea jar though and I never use it, it's just hidden in the back of the cabinet collecting dust.

This all takes me back. I had some summertime friends in the mid 80s that lived down the street with their grandparents every summer. Their grandma would make mint sun tea on their back deck. It was so good.

I still make mint iced tea by the glass at work.

We used to make it when I was little. I'd help my mom, but I've never made it on my own. I've never liked tea (hot or iced). My husband likes it, but he has a recipe he likes that involves the stove, not the sun.

We used to make 3 at a time on the weekends at my parents' house. We made on the back of my friends boat this weekend.

I’ve only had it once or twice, many years ago as a child. I think my mom heard about it and tried it as an experiment, really just as something for us kids to do when we were bored on a hot summer day. I didn’t drink much iced tea back then, but do now, so maybe I’d like it.

My mom used to make it at our last house, because we had a pool deck that was in the sun all day. There really isn’t a good spot to make it where I am now.
Same. I can't even grow some veggies in containers because I would need to be home all day to move the containers every half hour. I have a strip of sun about 2 feet wide that moves through the yard until afternoon when the sun falls behind trees.

Brewing tea really doesn’t take anymore work then sun tea. Place tea bags in container and boiling water, wait until it cools, place in fridge.
Ah, but I have to be in (or at least near) the kitchen to boil water (gas stove here - fire safely and all that). Sun tea just happens while I'm off doing whatever I want.

Plus, that sun-kissed magic just brings back memories.

I've never had it. I was the only tea-of-any-kind drinker in my house anyway so it would have been a waste, but I recently gave up caffeine so there's no point to making it now.

Never had it, have no desire to have it. I drink hot tea in the winter but don't drink iced or cold tea. Hubby makes 2 gallons of tea every other day, man likes his tea. I just drink coffee and water, and as I said hot tea in the winter. I lived in New Mexico during the 70s so you would think I would have had it as some time, but nope.

It works fine with herbal tea bags if you do decide you want to make it but are avoiding caffeine.

I am curious for those who say they do not like "Sun Tea" is it ALL cold tea (aka Iced Tea) that you do not like or just the stuff that is brewed this way?

Don't really like tea but also recall some articles indicating you can have a problem making sun tea with bacteria growth since the water never gets hot enough like it would on the stove.

I have never made sun tea. I have a strange relationship with tea, it's a thing where I try to like it but I usually end up hating it. If it is free somewhere, I will drink it and it is decent. I absolutely CANNOT make it myself where it is suitable for consumption. I have tried various ways, even a tea maker. The tea I make is just gross, so I just gave up.

The only way I can make tea is using Crystal Lite packets. :rotfl2:
