I love it! As with so many food items, I'm the only one who will eat it so I hesitate to make it just for me (although it's super easy.) The canned stuff is ok, maybe I'll just get that--the whole berry type, and I can add some orange peel or some nuts to make it taste fresh.

I like it, but it's a side dish that I'm fine without it as well. I sometimes make it homemade, but usually have a can on hand as well. Honestly, it's one of those things that half the time, after everyone's made their plates and sat down to dinner, I realize I forgot to put out, so I grab it and bring it to the table.

I actually end up eating more cranberry sauce the next few days with leftovers - it makes a nice spread on a turkey and stuffing sandwich. :)

My BIL makes a homemade cranberry sauce with dried cherries in it that is absolutely delicious! I could eat it all year round. It is, of course, a whole cranberry sauce. I do like the Ocean Spray jellied sauce in a can but, ironically, not the whole berry in a can. Occasionally I will buy a small can during the year, but it doesn’t come close to how good the homemade is.

I like cranberry sauce, homemade or canned, whole or jellied.

For the holidays, I make it homemade because DH loves it that way.

But I grew up eating the canned stuff and I'll use the cans of cranberry sauce if I'm just doing a random roast chicken / turkey breast / turkey cutlets / swedish meatballs for Sunday dinner.

I LOVE cranberry sauce and I've been making my own for years. It is the easiest thing to make on the menu but for some crazy reason I seem to boil it over the pan Every Stinking Year!!

I like it along with turkey or chicken. Though often forget about it most of the year other than around now. I have had canned, homemade, jelly, whole berry, orange cranberry sauce….. and it all worked for me.

I like cranberry sauce and until last year it was always the jellied canned stuff. Last year I decided to buy the whole berry canned stuff and it is so much better. This is one of the many things my mom insisted was because us kids like it better. She also said we didn’t like real mashed potatoes and that was why we always had instant.

I will take it anyway I can get it - I LOVEEEEE cranberries. I stock up in the fall and fill my freezer so I can have it year-round. I will eat it however it comes, but mine is fresh, boiled down with some fresh OJ, ginger, a tbsp of honey, salt, some thyme, and I leave it half/half chunky and smooth. I love it so much!

Love it, but with just two of us this year, and my wife not liking it, and me being diabetic and probably shouldn't eat it, we won't have any this year.
In past years, we always had home made whole berry cranberry sauce, AND a can of Jellied Cranberry sauce for a friend who preferred that.
It did seem Sunday that they had more canned cranberries than I recall them having in years past. There were several pallets of them in the aisles of the chain grocery store.

We eat cranberry sauce year round. I serve it as-is, from the can, with roast chicken. I've also used it as a marinade/basting sauce for roast pork, and I use it instead of grape jelly when I make party meatballs. We always have the canned, jellied type of cranberry sauce at Thanksgiving; that's my favorite, I'm doing the shopping and cooking, and nobody has asked for anything different. I especially like it on leftover T-giving dinner sandwiches! I do NOT like homemade cranberry sauce. I find recipes with orange peel in them to be bitter and I just am not a fan of all the additional spices in my cranberry sauce.

I love cranberry sauce! I'll take it any way it comes but prefer the can
Same! I like the jellied canned stuff, but if my aunt decides to make the homemade whole kind, I like that too.

Before DH was diagnosed with diabetes, one of my easy dinners was chicken thighs in the crock pot with a can of cranberry sauce and a little water. (But now I use lower-sugar sauces.)

I love it! As with so many food items, I'm the only one who will eat it so I hesitate to make it just for me (although it's super easy.)
If you want it, make it. - You're worth it!

That's very nice:goodvibes After I posted this morning, an Ina Garten recipe popped up on my phone where she uses the whole berry canned sauce, adds some orange zest, OJ, and some shredded apple. Simmer for about 15 minutes and it's good to go. Might just do that!

Let us know how it comes out! I am not a fan of homemade sauce, but am intrigued by the shredded apple. Happy Thanksgiving, Ron!

I like it and serve it on Thanksgiving. Kids never did. DH didn't like it until I made it fresh. I LOVE it on post-Thanksgiving turkey and cranberry sauce sandwiches.

A bit bittersweet this year. I have a 200+ year old crystal bowl that I used to serve cranberry sauce in (a 90-year old friend gave it to us for our wedding nearly 35 years ago, and it had been given to her great grandmother for her wedding). Unfortunately, we moved this summer and it was one of the things that didn't survive. I mended it with clear gorilla glue, but I don't think it's servable. The lady who gave it to us said her grandmother had always served cranberry sauce in it for holidays, so I had carried on the tradition.

One of those things that I have 20/20 hindsight about -- I should've brought the breakables in the car with us (although none of my crystal glasses were broken).
Sorry the dish broke, you do have wonderful memories!

She says something to the effect that the apple helps it gel. Will def report back!

I love canned jellied cranberry sauce. I have it on & off year round.

I don't bits of things in my cranberry sauce, so I usually don't like homemade versions.

For sandwiches & leftovers, I make a cranberry relish by mixing some jellied cranberry sauce with mayo & black pepper. Then I'll eat a few spoonfuls of the leftover jellied cranberry sauce plain. It's like a tart, adult version of Jello. Not overly sweet like kids Jello.
