I will likely get a cat eventually. I have backyard kitties and my daughter has a cat. The backyard kitties are the neighbors cats that hang out in my backyard. My daughter cat stays in daughters room.

Total cat person. We have 6 right now, down from 8 in the past. We do have a dog we all love, but if I could only have one animal it would be a cat.
First picture is Fuss, Black and Climby( lost Climby in August); second picture is Jill and third picture is Jack. Not pictured is Bits and Sherbert, Sherbert looks just like Jack.

I'm not really a cat or dog person. My dad never allowed us to have pets so I grew up without knowing anything about them. But our six year old daughter really wanted a cat and we ended up with a good rescue Tabby who was laid back and easy to manage. That cat lived for over 20 years. We will not be getting another pet.

I love cats! I had/have dogs too, but cats suit me better. I love how they snuggle, purr and speak to you when you enter a room. I like how you can just "hang out" with a cat... dogs seem to be more demanding and "in your face" I suppose (not that cats are not capable of being pushy at times too). I just find cats fascinating.

I tallied it up, I have had about 6 cats in my lifetime. 2 "standard issue" grey tabby cats, 1 tuxedo, 1 solid white, 1 calico, and my "old lady" Siamese.

Total cat person, have been my whole life. currently we have 3 sweeties with us. We generally have between 3-5 at a time. 2 orange tabbies, who are indoor/outdoor, and our newest one, who seems to have some Maine coon cat in her we think. We plan on her being our first indoor only kitty.
I grew up with cats, but they were all outdoor cats, no idea how many we had over my lifetime, probably over 100.

I do not have any cats nothing against them but am more of a dog person and we have our rescue who is enough to handle by herself.

For the last 15 years or so I have not lived in my home except for a weekend here or there. I work out-of-state and have been doing that either long-term like right now or 6-18 months at at time at some location. I did stints like that in California and Florida. The end result is no pets, can't take care of them.

I'm a cat person. ( and a dog person, too) As an adult I now have my 5th cat. He is a JOY! Badger came into our home as my grandson's Xmas present last year. He is absolutely thee most sociable cat I have ever had. We also have a senior dog and they get along like loving brothers.

I’ve always loved cats. Currently have an indoor cat. She is 4 years old, white, with a blue eye and green eye. Also have an outdoor cat ( we live on a farm), a tortie that’s about 10 years old.

I like cats and grew up with cats and dogs, but I can't have cats. Both DH and DD11 are allergic to cats. So we just have dogs instead.

Not a cat person—I am uncomfortable around them—not quite a phobia, but I avoid them as best I can. I like dogs especially smaller ones that aren’t yappy.

I chose “other.” I was never a cat person even though we had two when I was a kid.

My DD got my grandkitty, Maggie during the pandemic. I just adore her. I think a lot of that has to do with her saving DD’s mental health during that time when she was alone in a new city, furloughed and had no one out there. I’ll always be grateful to Miss Maggie for that. Plus, she just has an awesome personality.

On occasion I think it would be nice to have a kitty because they’re pretty self sufficient, low maintenance and don’t require half the work and planning a dog does. Then I remember I’m mildly allergic to some (thankfully not Maggie), they scratch the furniture, climb on things and knock down Christmas trees. Still, if the cat distribution system were to pick me I’d probably take it as fate.

I would like to have a cat some day. I’ve never had one, mainly for two reasons: 1) My mother wasn’t really an animal (in the house) person, and she lived with me until a few years ago, and 2) We always had German Shepherds - their behavior, we found, depended on the cat. Currently I have a ten year old Terrier and a youngish German Shepherd. I think the Shepherd would be fine with a cat, but I’m not so sure about the Terrier. I think he’d be fine, too, but all would depend on the cat’s initial reaction to him. If I could find a cat that couldn’t care less about dogs, we might be able to get it to work. We do have hamsters and the Terrier [initially bred to kill rodents and small animals], believe it or not, is so used to them that he basically ignores them, though we have our own version of ”trust, but verify”, lol. So maybe some day!

Enjoying all your beautiful cat pictures!! :lovestruc

I chose other because...it's complicated...I've had cats in the past as both pets and as what I guess you could describe as fosters. I used to work at a pet store and it was shocking how many people would drop cats/kittens off. I would get them fixed and get their shots done by the TEAM bus and find them new homes. I have had two cats of my own over the years. I have also gone in and out of allergies with them so I just don't take the risk of having them anymore...that being said, if I am somewhere where there is a friendly cat, I of course say hello and give them love...I just suffer later because of it lol
