Frozen fish sticks with macaroni & cheese and stewed tomatoes were a Friday night staple growing up. I still serve this classic combo a few times a year.

I don't like seafood but I like fish sticks because of the breading covering the fishiness and mainly because they are a vehicle for tartar sauce which I love lol

These are called fish fingers in the UK... I like them but can't say I ever really eat them anymore. They were more of a childhood favourite, although getting a pub version on a sandwich when going out for lunch is quite nice.

To me they go into the category of food I’ll never eat again until maybe I have grandchildren. Kraft Mac and cheese, hot pockets, spaghetti-O’s - kid food that I’ve only eaten as a child or off of a child’s plate.

I might have had them prior to my adoption but I don't remember specifically. Not something my mom or dad would have cooked so, if I have eaten them, it was many years ago.

We may have had some in the house when the kids were little (youngest is now 30!) but haven't had them in many years. I do buy frozen beer battered cod fillets at Aldi, they are good for a quick easy meal.

I don’t like seafood, so I don’t like fish sticks. I tried them once as a kid and gagged on the bones. Disgusting things . . . :crazy2:

There should NOT be bones in fish sticks.
There were so many bones it was like eating a hairbrush. I won’t ever forget it. I also remember kids finding bones in the fish sandwiches at school (I packed a lunch). They would shred the piece of fish to get all the bones out and then put the shredded fish back on the bun to eat it. :crazy2: Perhaps there are some fish that are better for fish sticks than others. . .

I enjoy good quality fish sticks made from whole filets, not the ones made from ground up or processed fish. Some brands also have too much gloppy breading which I don't care for.

I had them when I was a child. Later I moved onto fish filets (Gorton). But I haven’t had either in a really long time. I wonder what I would think of them now. Something else to take a look at in stores!

I used to really like them as a kid. But the rare times I have fried fish now, I prefer fish fillets with the puffy, crunchy batter coating like Arthur Treacher's fish and chips. And I do like McDonald's fillet-o-fish.

There are NO bones in any fish sticks - not sure what you ate - We were served fish sticks back in the day most Fridays in school lunch as we lived in an area with lots of Catholics that didn't eat meat on Fridays - loved them. Salmon in the can has bones, but they are pressure cooked and edible.
I have always liked fish sticks with Tartar Sauce, but then again being a deep south LA girl that loves crawfish, I eat most any kind of fish or dishes made with seafood.

I don't actually eat the fish sticks...we prefer the filets.

Fish filets, flavored noodles, and broccoli is one of the meals I rotate every 4 weeks.
