It’s Thursday today, which means I go grocery shopping today - every Thursday is grocery store day for me. As I make my list, and check it twice (actually it’s more than twice - LOL), I also check the online store coupons. So I started to wonder how faithful you all are about using grocery store coupons. So tell us today….

On a scale of 1-5, with 1 being the least, how faithful are you with checking and using grocery store coupons?
Which type of coupons do you use?
(multiple choice)

For Me…..I’m a #5, and I check & use both digital and paper coupons. Every Wednesday I check two grocery store sale papers to see which has more sales, then I check the online coupons for each to see which has more coupons and then I decide which store to shop at - it’s like a major planning event every week - LOL! During cold weather months, I may go to both stores (I can keep the cold items in my car in the winter), but during warm weather months I just stick with one store. My goal is to not step into a grocery store again until next week. Normally I’m pretty successful with this goal.

If I’m shopping at Target 🎯 I’m all over the deals & coupons !! But I often don’t bother with them when I pop in to the grocery store as I’m just getting fruit and junk I should not be eating- everything else I need I either purchased at Target 🎯/ Walmart or Costco - I receive emails from all 3 so if they have a special sale on something I know about it and can purchase it if I need the item - I try not to go in the stores as it’s cheaper for me to stay OUT of the stores !!! 🤣❤️🤣🤣❤️

I mainly use electronic coupons and I usually go through them once a week on the store app. The store has “coupons for you” based on items you buy frequently and there’s usually one free item coupon in that group. Occasionally that store mails paper coupons which I will use.

Coupons haven’t been apart of my market life since sometime in the ‘80s; not many for the perimeters.

Dad and I mostly use digital coupons. He saved a huge amount yesterday at Ralphs for which we are so grateful. For us every penny counts and can add up quick in savings!

I only use coupons from one store that tailored to my buying habits.
I only use them as needed

I am not good about using paper coupons. My local grocery also offers digital coupons and I do try to clip those... and they'll apply automatically if I buy something that has a coupon. However, I generally only get the credit for the things that I would buy anyway. (And so many of them are "$1 off when you buy 3" and I never need three, so I don't get the coupon.) So I voted "not very faithful" for myself.

I personally use Walmart pickup. I do a pickup maybe once every 7-10 days I get mostly 'my dtuff' some for Marie or both of us. Marie still likes to do in store shopping at multiple stores. I'll use digital if they are there online for pick up. She rarely uses coupon. I wind up buying maybe 25-35% of our combined grocery store needs. I hate going into stores.

I use digital coupons if there is one available for something that is already on sale that I am buying. I don’t get any physical coupons since I don’t subscribe to the local newspaper. I make my shopping list online, and it shows me if there are coupons available when I look at each item in the online circular.

I wil use them but pretty much only the ones that are mailed to me from the store directly every couple of months. They mostly cover a lot of stuff I buy regularly. I will use the coupons on the app too. I don't go out of my way to hunt them down though.

We still get the daily newspaper but they rarely have paper coupons that we can use. It is mostly digital coupons that are linked to the store. I faithfully use the rewards points and deals from our local grocery stores, too. :)

I clip the online coupons religiously. I usually check the first day of the new flyer and the day I plan to shop to make sure I get everything.

Been married almost 28 years and at the beginning I couponed. Would get them out of the.paper every week and cut out the ones I'd use and file in a box with categories. Went from that to just using the ones printed out with receipt at the store. And now don't bother with any. If there are stickie ones on the items at the store, I will do that of course.

 Where do you even get them? They’ve pretty much gone the way of the dodo here. Once in a long while I’ll get a promotion in the mail or there will be a display of manufacturers’ coupons at the store. I always use them if I’m interested in the product. Mostly though, instead of coupons, each store chain here has their own loyalty card and offers and discounts are automatically applied at check-out.

Back during the days of the TheGroceryGame (which I learned about here!), I learned to use coupons and shop like I never knew before. I typically bought 4-5 Sunday papers each week and I couponed with the best of them! I learned about the monthly sales categories, downloaded apps, printed coupons and built an awesome pantry.

Today, I mostly don't coupon at all. We use to get weekly sales papers with a coupon insert, but those have stopped now as well. We don't buy prepackaged food for health reasons. I'm very specific about health/beauty products due to certain chemicals. After comparing the best deals/coupons at Target to bulk-buying at Sams, the prices were comparable. So, I shop Aldi and Sams. I supplement with a local produce stand and my garden. Couponing taught me a lot about grocery shopping though. I still watch monthly loss leaders and maintain a rotating pantry.

We don’t use them there are only 2 of us and most of the time the ones that come either are for brands we do not use or the quantity is more then what we need.

I am a pretty diligent couponer. I used to be VERY serious about it, but paper coupons are harder and harder to come by these days, so I don't really make the rounds to all the different stores anymore.

Adding, I do review the monthly Costco sale booklet that cones in the mail. I skim it for items I would normally be buying, or for items I purchased in the past 30 days to order the price mstch refund. Most items there I also order online.
