Disney Villians get lots of attention - people seem to always have a favorite.
I made a list of 9 Disney Villians (I wish I could do more - Mods…can we have more selections for the polls?).
So I ask….

Who is your favorite Disney Villian?

*Cruella de Vil is not included because she steals puppies to make a coat :scared::eek: I just can’t give her a featured spot in the poll - LOL!
*If your favorite villian is not listed, please choose “other” and post your answer.

For Me…..My favorite villian is Maleficent. I always found her to be a very creatively made villian - she’s a dark fairy that turns into a dragon. Her powers from her staff allow her to teleport, fly, hypnotize people, seek hidden knowledge and project lightning. I definitely wouldn’t want to be on her bad side - LOL!

Isn't Jack Sparrow one? Cuz he's my favorite. :love:pirate:
I’m a huge Jack Sparrow fan too ❤️, but I personally don’t consider him a villian. Maybe I’m wrong with thinking this. I’m curious what others think.

Is The Good Captain a villian or not?
For anyone reading this and would like to discuss - it’d be fun to know your thoughts.

I feel he’s not, because he has done several good things, especially with having Will stab the heart of Davy Jones so he can live. Jack has a good heart down deep that is many times covered up by his love of pirating.

Jack is not a villain in the traditional sense. He might be a bit of an anti-hero. He IS a pirate, but he's mainly taking on other pirates and the East India Company, all people "playing the game" so to speak. He's not just murdring innocent people in port or anything.

Speaking of great villains though, I love Captain Barbosa!

I'm not really a big fan of the villains. After all, they are bad guys. ;) I picked Captain Hook because he is kind of a funny villain.

It's not really about liking them in the sense that you are rooting for them, it's more like you appreciate what they bring to the story. I love Maleficent, but I also love Prince Philip, who is one flat-out hero's hero. I want him to win, but I just love how epic Maleficent makes the fight.

Maleficent is tops on my list as well. I'm not a fan of the Angelina Jolie storyline, so my basis is strictly from the animated feature content. Most of the villains have fairly predictable and valid (in a villain sort of way) reason for their villainy... beauty, love interest, wealth, etc. Maleficent...she goes nuts on the world because she wasn't invited to a baby shower! She's also a really impressive dragon!

My honorable mention is the Cheshire Cat. It seems odd, since the Queen of Hearts is technically the villain in that movie, but the Cheshire Cat is no friend to Alice. He's independent and isn't a sidekick directly facilitating the Queen's villainous ways, but he also twists everything and steers Alice towards dangerous situations and actions. There are actually a few sources that label him as a villain for these reasons. I adore him and I can see the justifications, so I'm putting him out there as well.

Man, but look at Phillip in that shot! No fear.

It’s difficult for me to pick one villain over another. I prefer an intelligent, diabolical villain to a character that is more of a bully villain. The Evil Queen in Snow White is much more interesting to me than the Queen of Hearts. I would take a Claude Frollo or a Maleficent over a Gaston. That is one reason I am looking forward to Wish. From the previews, it looks like we might be getting another diabolical villain to root against.

I also feel like sometimes the villain isn’t really who the movie makes them out to be. For example, although Prince Hans isn’t a nice guy, I never really bought him as the villain of Frozen. No one was really fighting against Prince Hans through the movie. I always felt that the real villain in the movie was fear, and what it can do to your life. Anna and Elsa overcoming those fears was the real triumph in the story, not giving Hans a quick punch. I felt that Hans was added for children to have someone to see as a “not very nice person“ (since every Disney movie has to have one), but not the villain of the piece for adults.

The Evil Queen is a great villain too and very cruel. I love the scene of the skeleton in the dungeon reaching for the jug of water just out of reach. That's visious!

While I love the original Ursula, my favorite is Edgar from the Aristocats. When the kids were little, it was so great to have a Disney villain that the kids weren't terrified of.

I like Cruella. Yes, her intentions are vile, but she is a villain after all. And she is a fun character. From your list, I’d choose Maleficent, but I picked “other.”

Several villains from the Disney cartoon Kim Possible were really good too. That show has great villains.
