I hope you all have a blessed and enjoyable Thanksgiving today.
Today we’re going to talk Turkey, which is the main event today. I’ve worked closely with the public for 38 years and it always surprises me with how many people don’t like turkey. I know many families that don’t serve it for Thanksgiving - they make a Prime Rib Roast or Ham.
There’s also the great debate on which type of meat everyone likes - white vs dark? Some don’t care what they eat and others feel very passionately about one or the other.
So let’s find out how you all feel this Thanksgiving Day. Give us your gobbly good answer today…..
What is your opinion of turkey?
Do you like white meat or dark meat?
(multiple choice)
For Me……I’m a turkey lover all year long. I love it today, I love it when I make a small turkey breast throughout the year and I love the turkey lunchmeat I buy every week. Our town butcher sells turkey lunchmeat that is turkey breasts they cook on site, so it’s not processed - it’s good stuff!
In regards to white vs dark - I’m a white meat girl. I don’t hate dark meat though, I will eat it, but will never choose it if I don’t have to. Today my DH is making one small turkey and two turkey breasts - there will be no shortage of meat and we’ll have a lot leftover, which I’m excited about. I make these little turkey sliders with the leftovers that are really good.

as a side dish as if everything else was not enough to fill you up. I used to tell my mom let's make something lighter and here I am doing the same
