Do you play Sudoku?
If yes….In what way do you play it - on your phone, a Sudoku book? (M.C.)

Sorry about no poll yesterday - I didn’t have any time - we were out of town for my DD18’s Freshman Orientation at the university she’s attending in August.


For Me…….I love playing Sudoku - it’s my favorite way to pass the time on long car drives.
I don’t like doing Sudoku on my phone - it has to be a Sudoku book with a pencil & eraser. I like doing other types of puzzles too, but Sudoku is definitely my favorite.

*Inspiration for today’s poll is me starting a brand new Sudoku book yesterday and doing several puzzles during our long car drive Thursday night and Friday afternoon.

For those that don’t know what Sudoku is….

I play occasionally. I have played puzzles from books, online, and in the newspaper. I also have a board that sets up with tiles (similar to Scrabble tiles) that you can move around - but you still need to copy the puzzle from another source.

I tear it out of our weekly paper, and tape the answer to the back. I play it mostly on Airplane rides!

No. Either DH or I would always fill in the daily puzzle back when we used to get the newspaper delivered. We canceled it when we moved to our current home (8 years ago) and I'm pretty sure neither of us has done a single Sudoku since.

I haven't played Sudoku in a long time but my sister does and she's really good at it. She likes to buy those puzzle books from the grocery store and she's able to knock out the harder ones really quickly.

Yes, I play often. Learned how to do them years ago when they became popular, and got hooked. I’ve done online versions, but much prefer paper, from a newspaper or puzzle book. I also like crossword and other word puzzles. Getting older and need to keep the mind sharp.

I think many people are turned off to sudoku because they think they need to be good at math. When in fact, it’s not really a math puzzle at all, it’s a logic puzzle using numbers as symbols. You could replace the numerals 1 through 9 with the letters A through I, and the method of solving it is the same.

Oh! No I don’t play Sudoku.

Audibly LOL'd at this... I teach AP World History and whenever we talk about seppuku my kids are always like "uhh... why don't they just not do this?"

I stock up on books from the dollar store... hahaha

I don't do it-I am absolutely terrible with numbers. I can't count to 20 without taking off my shoes, practically.

Yes, I play-all the time. Every few weeks we go to the Dollar Tree and pick up a few of the books. I bring a sudoku book on every plane trip. I used to play it on my iPad, but somehow that app got deleted. Come to think of it, I should try to reinstall an app for it. Any suggestions?
