Do you buy fall mums for outside your house?
If yes….what colors do you buy?
(multiple choice)

For Me…..I really love fall moms and when I buy them, I try to get all colors, but my least favorite is the orange, so I normally don’t have as many of those as I do other colors.
The front of my house last year ⬇️
I also have some areas that I plant mums that aren’t shown here.

Love the front of your house !! ❤️❤️

I just bought 4 at Costco ! All yellow - my 2nd choice is always red - I may buy a couple more

My boss buys close to 200 every year for an event we do - I got one - it’s HUGE - I will get as many as I want after event - last year I believe I took 5 - again they are HUGE - they fill up my suv - so if I buy any I buy tiny ones for small deco areas
Goal this week is to fall deco outside - I got a couple pumpkins already at Costco as they were so cheap
Mums are so pretty - I prefer red and yellow only

This year I bought 2 from a friends son who was selling them for school, but I think I've already killed them. She dropped them off a week ago Saturday and I gave them some water and put them outside. It was REALLY hot here last week and I didn't give them anymore water until last Friday when I realized they looked a little sad. After a good drink of water though, they didn't perk back up. I will probably end up buying some fresh ones to replace them.

The Front of your house looks beautiful. I buy mums every year. This year when I was at Wegmans they had a ton of mums for a really good price. Normally I like all different colors. I guess yellow would be my least favorite. This year they had tricolor mums. They haven’t bloomed yet so I don’t know exactly which colors I am getting.

Beautiful decor @slo - I don’t have the space you do to work with but my set-up is very similar with mums, pumpkins and a scarecrow. :goodvibes

My summer flowers are long-since spent and my first batch of mums could already use replacing already too, They were just small pots to fill the gap until I haul all the autumn stuff out and they were yellow, white and bronze. The next I buy will be bigger and I’ll get bronze, gold and burgundy.
.

I love mums. Used to buy them all the time, but haven't bought any in the last few years. I'd even put them in the ground and sometimes they would come back the next fall, very cool.

I'm actually planning to get some asters this year if I can remember to do it before it's too late.

For the life of me I cant keep posted flower alive. I have house plants and the ones in the ground outside are ok but add a pot and there dead..lol So no mums for me.

I love when people decorate their front porches Yours is lovely SLO.

I bought one huge one from Costco that is a dark pinkish purple. Looks beautiful. I also have a smaller mixed container with some purple cabbage and other fall colors. I probably won’t buy anything else. My summer containers are still doing well and I don’t have the heart to trash them yet. I have a light pink double impatient in one container with some other things that was stunning for several months. Then the deer found it and ate only the impatient. It’s finally starting to bloom again and I want to enjoy it a bit longer. I might move it to my deck though. I’ll still see it but it won’t clash with the fall colors in the front.

We bought a couple larger ones to put on our front porch. We recently had some large trees removed from near our front door, so you can actually see the porch now. :p

We also buy a couple for planters that we have next to our garage and happened to take one home from a benefit dinner (it was our centerpiece) this weekend, so we used that one down at the bottom of our driveway.

That's pretty much the extent of our fall decorating. :)

I think they are beautiful, but I am far too frugal to buy flowers that have such a short lifespan.

I agree, the ones sold at the grocery store or garden centers seem to be annuals and only last for 2-3 weeks. Seems like a waste of time/money for something that only lasts such a short time. I can recall my parents used to have those perennial mums when we were growing up and they would return each year. Prefer the summertime annuals that continue to bloom for most of the summer when you are outside more to enjoy them. Probably also depends on where you live and which flowers do best in your local climate.
