Have you seen or read the Hunger Games trilogy?
If yes….which ones did you read and/or watch?
Are you a fan or not a fan?
(multiple choice)

For Me…..I’m a fan and I’ve read books 1 & 2 twice (book 2 being my favorite), but only read book 3 once (I found it kinda boring and hard to get through). The movies I’ve seen many times. In fact, what inspired this poll, is throughout the last week, I rewatched the movies with watching the last one last night. What made me think to watch them again is my text tone is Rue’s Whistle and when I heard it last week I thought - it’s been quite awhile since I watched these movies - I should watch them again - so I did 🙂👍🏻

I read the books. The first book was good, but I started to lose interest midway through the second book.

The movies were just okay for me. Katniss and Peta had no chemistry. Poor casting IMO. I wasn’t rooting for either of them.

I read the first book in an 8th grade long term Reading class. Read the 2nd on my own. Saw both movies. They were OK.

I saw the first movie and enjoyed it -never followed up with the others.

I'm a book before movie person. Adhere strictly to that so I guess I'll have to give the 1st book a go. The premise often makes me dismiss picking it up, but I'm willing to read almost anything.

I have seen all the movies. I enjoyed them.
I have not read the books. I think DH read a couple.
Too many books, too little time, so my favorite authors come before other ones

This.

The books and movies got progressively worse and tiring.

I read the books and watched the movies. With the books, I felt like it was more of a two-book story that got stretched to three books. By the end, I was going "come on! really?" with some of the writing. Additionally, this was a rare instance where I felt the movies were better than the books (by doing a better job of rounding out the story). I also felt there was some casting issues with the male characters, although I am a fan of Jennifer Lawrence in the movies. Overall, though... I really liked the dystopian plot. It's also held up with my students through the years too. It's one of the books I see them reading throughout the school year.

Oh a side note, if you're visiting the Atlanta area and a fan of the Hunger Games, you should visit the Swan House which was used in the movies. We happened on it by chance and it was very impressive.

I wouldn’t call myself a fan but I have seen all the movies. I must admit to using the “Hunger Games” as a metaphor for things that are crazy-competitive, for example, “...getting a parking spot yesterday was practically the Hunger Games.” :o Most people get it.

I enjoyed the books. I know I saw the first movie, can't remember if I saw the second, mostly sure I never saw the last two.

Read all the books and watched all of the films multiple times. I even saw some of the films in the theatre by myself. On purpose. The first book/film are my favorites.

Liked it so much I gave DS13 my books, he seemed to like it as well. He even read the prequel book.

I've read all the books and seen all the movies. I would say I'm a pretty big fan. Lately, my wife and I have been putting one of The Hunger Games movies on Hulu and letting in play while we're getting to sleep. Not saying the movies normally put us to sleep, but lately they have, lol!

I've also read the prequel book The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. I think the movie adaptation of that one is scheduled to be released this November.

I read Book one shortly before Movie one came out. My sister ( my movie partner) was going out of town and I wasn't going to wait to see the premiere. It was the first movie I ever went to see, alone. I read Book 2 and then I never followed thru with the rest.
But I would watch all 3 movies! I found the storyline interesting enough!

Didn’t read the books. DS read the first one as a school reading assignment. I watched the movie with him on DVD. I liked it okay but not enough to care about the sequels. Not really into that genre.

We had a foreign exchange student the year the first movie came out. The book series was her favorite so we (spouse, oldest daughter, and I) read all three books prior to the movie release and then went to a midnight showing together.

I thought the books were better than the films. The movie (at least the first one) just felt too fast-paced to actually give the viewer the experience of "The Hunger Games". The books showed a much better sense of the lives of the people in the districts and the mental experience of the games which could last several weeks to even months before all the competitors died. The movie felt like 2-3 action packed days instead of the weeks of starvation, stress, and loneliness that was depicted in the book.

I have not seen them, (or read the books). I remember when those movies were really popular, but I just never got around to watching.
