Cows and horses are always announced. Even when it’s the same horses around the corner. Every time!

They aren't announced as cows, but "moo cows."

I announce pasture animals, my DH announces wild game. He has an eagle eye for them.

Cows are quite common around here, but I still announce them often.

Deer are always announced because I don't want to hit one. I have told my boys over and over again as they began to drive if you see one cross the road always wait for more to follow.

Of course, I am an Indiana girl, so we announce Cows. Two of my friends had Grand champion cows at the fair.

For sure we’d call out cows when the kids were little. And all kinds of animals…especially deer & elk for safety reasons in the back range.

Now my husband calls out all of our local species of hawks. It’s kind of an obsession with him. Lol

Cows and any animal were always announced during trips; cows, horses, deer, turkey, woodchuck. Always did it growing up. Not sure if my mom had amended rules growing up in the country though. Driving with DH I don't say it loudly as it didn't seem to be a thing for him - along with chanting the states we're leaving/entering.

Sometimes, but don't really know why.

DSis and DBiL taught us this game they played with their daughter while traveling...

Car is "split" in half, left & right (driver/passenger). The goal is to see how many cows you can count on your "side" of the car. There's a twist though...
1) If there's a church on your side of the car, the cows all got married, so you double your count (yea, doesn't make logical sense, but "dem's da rules").
2) If there's a cemetary on your side of the cow, all the cows you've "claimed" are now dead and your count resets to 0.

We are animal announcers. Turkeys, woodchucks and foxes are the most exciting since they are infrequently spotted. Deer go mostly unmentioned because they are so common unless there are fawns too.

Never did. But driving to Disneyland on 5 past Harris Ranch the cows kind of announce themselves, especially in the heat of the summer.

I live in Wisconsin. If I had to announce “COW” every time I drove the interstate, I would never be able to stop. That being said if there’s a BIG herd of cows or a non-Holstein herd, of us will say “COWS” and they other one will say “Outstanding in their field.”.

When my DD was little we also did “pony punches” which is an animal version of “punch Bug”. Thankfully, horses are not as prevalent as cows.

Yep, found myself recently doing this when I was driving an adult friend to a weekend retreat in the country. Cows, horses, and sheep are always announced. I live in an urban area so you have to get out of the city to see them.

We have - moo cows, sheepies, Highland Coos, baby deers (even if they're not), birdies and road-kill is announced as 'that used to be...'

Pretty much any animals we pass are announced. “Look! Horses!”, “look! Cows!” “Look! Sheep!” Lol

We never have announced cows in the car. I guess it was always a pretty common thing to see, they just blended into the background.

We drive between Sacramento and Los Angeles several times a year and cows line Interstate 5.
My wife is always on the lookout for SHEEP and vocalizes when she sees them..

Not too many cows on the roads we travel. We see horses sometimes, and I feel I am obligated to shout "Horses!" when we go by. One of my neighbors has started keeping chickens in her front yard, an endless supply of fascination for me when I walk by.

I live in the Central Valley, CA (dairy country) and if I mentioned cows any time I drove, I wouldn't be able to stop talking. My mom grew up on a dairy and both she and my dad worked in the dairy industry. All part of daily life around here.
