Have always preferred white meat for turkey. I think many people don't bother to use a meat thermometer and tend to dry out the turkey. Cooking to the proper internal temp is what makes the meat moist. You can't tell by looking at something as large as a whole turkey when it is done to the proper temp, each one is a different size and the amount of meat/bones and whether or not you have stuffing make a difference in how fast it cooks.

We won't be doing Thanksgiving this year since I had 5 front bottom teeth pulled last week. I'm still working on getting that bottom partial to fit properly and not dig into my jaw so I can't eat much. When I do eat chicken or turkey, I'm a white meat gal. I rarely eat dark meat unless it's cooked in something like dumplings or chicken and rice. It tends to be too fatty for me.

I like both white and dark meat for both chicken and turkey. I also like duck and goose, which are pretty much all dark meat.

Not a fan of turkey at all. Have to pour a lot of gravy over to get it down. Hate turkey sandwiches too. Prefer chicken and like dark meat best but try to eat white meat to be healthier.

Doesn't matter. But we buy a turkey breast roast these days so all white meat.
My wife, however, has dibs on all the skin.

I like dark meat in turkey and chicken. I do not like warm turkey so I usually eat just a tiny bite of the turkey on Thanksgiving Day.

I prefer white meat over dark meat. I can eat the thigh if I must but I don't like the leg meat at all (too wet and slimy!). My kids prefer the dark meat (legs are their favorite).

Hot roasted chicken is OK, but I really don't like hot turkey. Both meats are better cold.

DD16 and I fight over it every single time we make a turkey. It's our favorite part!!!
The three of us gather around the turkey while it’s resting just waiting for the moment we can eat the skin! We carve in the kitchen so it doesn’t have to look pretty for the table. That bird is skinned clean!

I like light and dark, but for different things. Light is my preference for sandwiches and dark is my preference for hot meals.

Yeah, we've never presented the full turkey for carving at the table. Once it is done browning and stops being surface of the sun hot, it's survival of the fittest to get the best pieces of skin. After that, DH takes over and slices the meat for a platter.

I like both, but if there is a platter full of carved chicken or turkey, I usually go for the white meat first. I use thighs for making certain dishes such as chicken cacciatore.

White meat. Only 10 for Thanksgiving this year, so I bought 2 turkey breasts instead of a whole turkey
