Keeping shoes organized is always a struggle for many of us. Some may throw them in the closet, under the bed or other places. My DH is one that struggles with this, so I’m thinking about buying him a shoe cabinet. I know he’d use it if I bought it for him. Now that we are empty nesters with a guest room, which was one of my girl’s room, I have a good place for the shoe cabinet. They sell them at IKEA so we may take a ride to take a look at then sometime soon. I’m wondering today if any of you have a shoe cabinet……..

How are you with keeping your shoes organized?
Do you own a shoe cabinet, like the one in the picture?
If yes…..how many?

For Me……I’m very organized with my shoes, but not with a shoe cabinet. I do have a shoe cabinet on my side of the closet that I’ve been using before I was married, so this cabinet is probably 40 years old now. I also keep shoes I don’t wear much in their shoe boxes. I don’t own tons of shoes, so it’s easy to keep them organized.

I am disorganized. I think most of mine are under the bed. We have a shoe rack (not cabinet), but my husband has claimed most of it for his shoes. I’ve seen the IKEA shoe cabinets and have been intrigued but I wonder how well it would fit different types of women’s shoes. All of the ones shown in the pictures appear to be sneakers or loafers. What about flats, heels, short boots, sandals, etc. Do those also fit, because I don’t have enough sneakers/loafers to make it worthwhile.

I have thought about getting one for our foyer (we have space for a small piece of furniture there but nothing that comes out too far from the wall)… but I don’t know how much it’d get used there.

I am pretty organized. I know where they all are.
I have a rack in my closet wth the shoes I don't wear as often.
Some are in the closet under the clothes ( like swim shoes). I have several pair of new ones that are in boxes on the top shelf of my purse storage.
The ones I wear the most are by the door to the garage (3 pair).

DH has most if his lined up under his clothes hangers (he never wears them....well, they are vacation shoes).
The pair he wears all the time are in his office. And a pair outside the back door to wear when he goes in the shop.

I am very organized with my shoes (and wish some of that would rub off on others in my house  ) but I don't have the kind of cabinet in the picture. I have a plastic thing in the bottom of my closet that holds some dress shoes (kind of upright on loops - it's hard to explain) and we have a shared cloth rack (the kind with a metal frame) near our side door for sneakers and sandals. We also have a couple of boot trays because...slush.

I used to have a plastic shoe organizer that hung in the closet but now I just wear my Reeboks which are right next to my bed.

I am very organized with my shoes I do not own a shoe cabinet but I kinda made one out of a plastic bin and some cardboard and then I keep all my sandals flip-flops surf socks in that and then I have another one similar to that that I keep my dress shoes in and then my boots are lined up next to that on the closet shelf and then the smaller closet shelf I line up my sneakers but I have enough room in my closet To do this - now if I did not I would buy one of those shoe racks and use that / but I have been using this system for years because my other house the closet was too small for one of those so came up with the system in the plastic bin and I’ve just never gotten out of it it works for me !
I will say one of my projects is to put in like dresser drawers in my closet this summer and I am considering putting in one of those shoe racks for Ikea because that’s where I’m getting the dresser drawers! It would like a whole lot nicer than my plastic shoe bin 🤣🤣

I am somewhat organized with my shoes. I have 2 shoe cabinets in my closet. The issue is I own way too many shoes. Precovid I wore heels every day and frequently traveled for work. Post Covid my work is much more casual and I rarely wear heels. I need to go through them this winter and get rid of a bunch. I struggle with it. I like shoes lol.

I only wear sneakers. I have three pairs in rotation..everyday, mowing/garden, church. Since DH started having issues, I started wearing jeans and sneakers to church. It's better for me to be surefooted helping him.

Those three pairs live next to our bed. I've had some foot issues, so no more bare feet for me.

So no shoe cabinet.

I would say I am an 8/10 on my shoe organization. I have a 3 shelf rack thing in the corner of my room that holds my shoes. They get thrown on there but not always in a neat and orderly fashion.

Somewhat for me. I have a floor to ceiling shoe rack that most of my shoes are on but my cheap flip flops and most of my sandals are on the floor under the rack and under my jewelry chest. My boots are on the floor under my hanging clothes. They are all in order and placed on the floor and not just in piles so there is that. I got rid of a bunch of shoes and boots in my summer clean out but still have way too many considering I'm retired and rarely leave the house except to go to the doctor, the grocery store or WDW.

No shoe cabinet. Most of our shoes are under the bed in flat plastic storage bins on wheels. Organized by how often they’re worn and/or by season, eg. sandals and flip flops that I won’t be wearing for several months now, are together. Some that I wear infrequently, eg. dressy shoes for weddings, are in shoe boxes on shelves at the top of my closet. Snow/rain/hiking boots stay in the bottom of the coat closet by the front door, and on a boot tray in the foyer when being used daily.

I try to be organized with them. I have a hanging shoe rack in my closet where I keep my nicer shoes, and we have a family shoe cabinet that's more of a bench with drawers in our entry way. It's amazing, though, how often the kids kick their shoes off right in FRONT of the shoe drawers 🤣

I'm somewhat organized with my shoes. I mostly wear running shoes daily. They are on the closet floor. Dress shoes are in boxes on the closet shelf. Slippers, flip flops and water shoes are in a wire basket drawer in the closet. Sandals are in the basket in the winter and on the closet floor in warm weather.

I have Crocs (or similar) at my front door and kitchen door. I have my sandals and sneakers in a closet in the living room. My dress shoes are in my master closet. So they are somewhat organized by location in the house.

I love shoes! have way too many sandals though - but I keep buying them. One would think I live somewhere warm, but nope! no shoe cabinet however I have shoe racks in my closets!

I'm pretty much like @jo-jo above. For the most part I have 3 pair of shoes now, oldest, older, newest. Same shoe. Marie says, why don't I get a different style. Because I like this one, works well for me. I had more, dress shoes, before I retired. I do have a small shoe rack in the closet.
