Retired here. When working (financial planner) I some times had appointments, some times did not.

Grand kids are out of school today.
DD is off work today. She works at a university.
DS And DIL both work today.

DH and I are retired. We're off everyday. Today were were at AK!!

I work in the financial industry and our US offices' corporate days off are aligned with the NYSE holidays. So, we always have MLK Day off.

The kids are also off from school. DD15 was supposed to have softball practice, but everything was canceled due to the weather. Even our city's MLK parades have been postponed.
