Do you buy frozen meatballs?
If yes…..what type(s) do you buy?
(multiple choice)

For Me……I do buy them and I buy Italian and Homestyle
I bought the homestyle yesterday for one of my DH’s favorite meals (Swedish Meatballs) and I buy the Italian for when I make meatball subs for dinner (I put them in the crockpot with spaghetti sauce and serve with mozzarella cheese and sub rolls)

I buy Italian from Costco......but only for DS. I cook a couple of meals for him and sometimes meatballs are his request. He just wants pasta sauce on them. DGS likes them.

I occasionally buy frozen meatballs from our Meijer store, their brand.

I don’t buy them but DD does - she does not like to share but I snatch one every now and then - they are for her lunch - Turkey - tasty
I make my own I want some

I usually only buy Swedish meatballs from IKEA. Maybe once every few months.

About once a year I buy Italian meatballs, chili sauce and grape jelly. Horrifying crock pot meatballs for the Christmas pot luck at work.

I have occasionally bought frozen meatballs (I don't know what kind -- probably homestyle or italian) but normally I make my own.

(Ex)Wife use to buy a brand that wasn't too bad quality wise. That was a long time ago and we had made them homemade for a very long time.

I'd like to remember what they were because I don't want to make homemade meatballs but I like meatball hoagies now and then. Everything I find in a frozen meatball now is disgusting.

I buy the ones from Ikea, which isn't often.
I also buy NO NAME meatballs. I believe they have wild rice in them, pretty good with spaghetti

I’ll buy them once or twice a year - usually at Christmas time for appetizers and maybe once more during the year when hosting some sort of party. If it’s just us eating, I’ll make my own.

99% of the time, I make my own. But, husband/kids like the frozen ones for BBQ meatballs/weinies for parties. So...I buy like 4 bags a year. Just the plain ones.

I don't buy them. I'd rather make my own with fresh ingredients.
Same. I don’t avoid processed foods and I’m always happy to find something yummy that’s a work-saver. Frozen meatballs aren’t it, though. I’ve tried both the beef and turkey ones; several different brands over the years. :crazy2: They all taste weird to me and the texture isn’t “meaty” - it’s like they have too much filler or something. They don’t even smell good cooking. That said, I hate rolling meatballs, so there are very few recipes I actually make them for.

I usually have turkey meatballs for lunch as they’re easy to prep and freeze for a whole week, just add frozen veggies as a side. I’m budget conscious and the frozen meatballs are just too expensive, so I make my own.

I don't buy or cook with them. My SIL always tells me that there is a local place that sells frozen meatballs that are like homemade. I haven't tried them, though.

Now you have me thinking... I haven't made Italian Wedding Soup lately. I may have to do that this weekend.

@ronandannette, I always hated rolling meatballs, but it was because of the mixing process. I started using my Kitchenaid to mix them, and it doesn't annoy me anymore.

Usually make them from scratch, but once in a while buy the frozen as a time saver. The best I’ve had are the Wellesley Farms Angus Beef meatballs from BJ’s.

:teeth: Nope - mixing isn’t the problem; I can do that by hand in less than 60 seconds. It’s the relentless rolling and frying. (I don’t drop them raw into sauces.) I hate making cookies for the same reason - repetitive tasks of any kind really, really bug me.
