Have you ever gone camping in a tent?

For Me…..No
I’m pretty confident that I never will - not for me :sad2:

I was in Boyscouts and did it often and I also did so throughout my older teen years with friends due to "reasons". I have not camped in over 20 years but have always urged my wife to go. She WILL not under any circumstances. I also will only camp in the fall / winter, due to mosquitoes, ticks and allergies. So not one wants to do a "survival" trip. Although I "think" I might go this fall with my son, although he hasn't had much interest during his life. I will say though I do not get why people would ever camp in hot weather... I want the fire to be enjoyable.

I've camped in a tent thousands of times. I can't do it as easily now because of my disabilities so I had to upgrade to a class C, but I still bring the tent along just in case.

Too funny on the timing of this post. Dh and I JUST went camping on Cape Cod last weekend. We used to love going before we had kids and when the kids were small. Then life got too busy with sports, etc.. Now that they are all grown we decided to try it again because we have been talking about buying a camper or trailer etc..

We had an awesome time and are already planning our next getaway. What certainly helps is that we have super comfy cots and an instant tent that pretty much just sets itself up.
We want to do a year of traveling the country when we retire so we are starting to look at RV’s etc.. This was a perfect test of if we still liked it and we did. It felt like being a kid again waking up in the tent.

We slept in a tent once when my son was a Cub Scout - about 25 years ago. Let’s just say once was enough. 😁. While I didn’t enjoy sleeping in a tent, I did enjoy sitting around the campfire, sharing stories and making s’mores. I can see why people like that.

When I was young a few times, like a teenager.
Then several times when my kids were growing up.
Hate it. Not comfortable and a lot of work to cook and set up and all that.
DH and DS were both boy scouts, so many times for them.

Hotels for me always now!

True story. Back in the mid 90s we were stationed in Germany and we used to camp with the kids all over Europe because it was cheap and great camping weather in the Alps region. Fast forward to 2001 and back in the states and decided to pull the tent out. It never dropped below 90 during the day and 80s at night. We were all miserable. I decided that we were ready for a pop-up camper with AC. I walked out with a 40 foot Winnebago. We have many campers/TV's over these years. Sold out last one in 2018. To me camping is an activity and not a vacation. I was ready for it to go. Maybe when we retire we will return to it.

Only once. I accompanied my son to a Cub Scout camp out because my husband wasn't able to go with him.

It was OK. We didn't have any of the good camping equipment (just a tent and sleeping bags). If we'd had camp cots, etc. I think it would have been better but I didn't want to buy those things for two nights. It also rained quite a bit of the day, then the full moon came out at night. I woke up and could see the silhouette of a HUGE spider on the outside of our tent. I *hate* spiders. Then I couldn't go back to sleep for fear that spider was going to try to come into the tent!

My family went camping a lot when I was young, but not in a tent. We had a small camping trailer. That was a lot of fun, but I wasn't the one who had to prep everything for a camping trip.

Yes, A long long time ago when my boys were young. Didn’t have a lot of money for vacations, so we camped! Mostly in the Smoky Mts. Great memories ❤️ But not interested in tent 🏕 camping again. DVC is for me 😎🏝🍹🌺

I love the great outdoor but only from the deck of my hotel. :)
This. The outdoors are nice to look at.

In my grandma’s backyard sleeping in a tent was magical. Actual camping never failed to be a miserable experience. I do not get the appeal. Camping is a hard no for me.

When the kids were toddlers we tented. Every summer. Than we went to a tent trailer, pull trailer and now have a fifth wheel trailer.

We have been lucky to travel all over Canada and the U.S with the kids and my mom. Best memories ever. The kids are 24 and 21 and still love to come with us if they can.

No way. Never have. Never will.

Only in the cabins at Fort Wilderness - love doing that!

Yes, once and I adored it!
Loved waking up to a woodpecker in the tree overhead, the campfire, cooking on the flame & the sense of community in the campsites and pretty much everything about it. We went with another family of friends who were campers but I've never been able to convince my family to do it again so only that one time. So glad I did it.
