Ok friends…..I saw this on Amazon today and couldn’t resist doing a poll about it.

Touchscreen Toaster - Do you have one?
Would you buy one?

For Me…..No, I do not have one and I have no desire to have one.
I only use a toaster oven - it’s my favorite type of toaster. I’ve never liked a toaster that pushes your bread down and then you can’t see what’s going on in there. I like to keep an eye on my item that‘s being toasted so it doesn’t get overdone and I can do that with a toaster oven (I like to be very controlling with my toast - LOL!)

I like my old cheap toaster just fine - but if my boss sees thus he will purchase two or three and then we will get to use them at work as he loves to get all the new gadgets ! He currently has a high end fancy toaster and it’s a pain to use 🤣🤣

I don’t have one, no desire, and do not want to risk the headache of malfunction especially at that price

I honestly think I'd like one! I've been complaining about my current toaster ever since it replaced my MICKEY toaster. That was such a fun novelty.

I don’t have one, no desire to have one. We have a toaster oven we rarely use, and a regular 4-slice toaster we use occasionally.

If someone gave it to me for free I'd use it, because I'm cheap. Otherwise, I'll stick with my air fryer.

Marie 'accuses' me of being a 'gadget guy' (she's probably right, as usual, ha) but, no desire for a touchscreen, high end gadget toaster. Our many year old toaster-oven is just fine. I too like to keep an eye on how the items are coming along behind the glass door.

Nope - just no. Adding digital features and (God forbid) wifi capabilities to appliances has just opened the door for more things to go wrong. I manange a new home warranty department and we’ve got many customers now with high-tech appliances that have much poorer performance and shorter life-spans than ever before. At much, much higher prices. Three hundred forty nine bucks for a two-slice toaster!??! Not in this lifetime. :sad2: If anybody was silly enough to give me this as a gift, I’d literally ask them to return it and give the money to charity.

No desire to own ANY touchscreen appliance. Way more expensive and likely the cost to repair if/when something goes wrong will exceed the price of the item (if you can even find a place to repair it). Toasting isn't complicated. You adjust the setting to get the desired level of browning. A pricey toaster isn't going to make the result any better.

I can imagine with something like a washer/dryer or refrig that has touchscreen and wifi capabilities needing both the typical repair person as well as some IT specialist to solve anything that goes wrong. Typical repair person will say they don't work on IT issues and then they just point fingers at each other reagarding what needs to be done to fix it.

The ONLY way I can see the appeal is if the "InstaGLOW heating tech" allowed you to burn images into the toast. If this was possible, you could print mystical Jesus toast all day, or pictures of your pooch.

You could even print out pictures of your breakfast onto toast, making it extra meta.
That said, I don't want one, and it's only a matter of time when AI will turn that machine into "Kill Toaster".
