I used to send a lot but started cutting back through 2019. In 2020 I added back people because I felt everyone could use some holiday greetings.

This year I have sent none--not even to family members. Just not feeling it. I normally have them written and mailed by December 1, but this year I had a lot on my plate.

Update: (not than any cares LOL), but apparently DH wanted us to send out Christmas cards. I know, i know he could send them if he wanted but it's not a big deal. I spent some time writing about 30 of them tonight and they will go in the mail on Monday. He asks for very little and I had no idea he cared about it. I think it's one way of keeping in touch with his two step siblings (who we treat like regular siblings) that we don't really visit. Once I was writing out a few then I might as well hit the major family members as well. I had enough cards on hand so maybe we will bring someone some Christmas cheer. Check that off the list.

I mailed out about 20 cards to "friends". I mailed about 6 to family but half of those are with their gift cards in them. I really only send out to people who send me a card.

my habit is to take cards we receive and display each year, set them inside my antique secretary and then use those as the basis of sending out the following year. yes, the numbers have greatly declined in recent years but I still like to reach out to wish happy holidays to some folks I only communicate with in this manner (I don't do social media). I esp. like it if there's a little note in the card with an update on how people are doing (glad though that the awful perfect lives 'fictional' Christmas letters that were so popular for so many years have seemingly gone by the wayside). rather sad when I go through those cards each year and am reminded of those that have passed. all in this year I only did a dozen-so far I've received 3.

Christmas Cards Mailed: 2. Cut down to Moms only around 2018. Kept that tradition due to their Moms. Will add adult kids once they move out. So at most 4. Minimum always 2 as long as I’m alive.

Then it’s hand delivered holiday season greetings cards to coworkers. This will be the last year. It was almost 400 cards this year vs. 120 cards last year. Harder to find a mass amount of beautiful holiday seasoning greetings cards that don’t say Christmas in them.

I don't send them out any more, I actually can't remember the last time I did so it had to have been over 20 years ago. I think I only get one a year now, my aunt still sends them out, otherwise none of my family does. Not to sound all bah humbug but I'm kind of glad that tradition stopped in my family. Might be an age thing, but as I've gotten older, my son has a family of his own, my parents are long dead, my siblings have scattered, most of the holidays (Thanksgiving - Christmas - Mother's Day - birthday) are just another day for hubby and I. I will put up the tree today and decorate the mantle and maybe the dining room but we don't exchange gifts any more, I just get something for the grand daughter and give my son and his SO a Visa gift card. We talked the other day about when we were going to go visit his family and I said not on the day itself. I'll drop off the grand daughter's gifts before Christmas, they like to do their own thing on the day and not have to decide on which set of parents to visit and I'm good with that.

I love doing Christmas cards and sent at least 60 this year - some to people who always send us one, some to older relatives who appreciate them, etc.

I've received about 20 so far, and expect more to be arriving. We do hang them up during the season, and I tend to do a scrapbook page with the photo ones we get.

I sent out 4.....I'll do more if I receive them.
I have received 1 from a "real" person

I'm using my cataract surgeries (December 10 & 17) as my excuse for not sending out more cards than just to my immediate family. I have several unopened boxes that I bought at Kmart many many years ago and I have religious Forever stamps that I bought when they were in the 40-something cents range, so it's not the cost. I remember sending and receiving 50 or 60 cards in years past; I think I received two last year. I miss the tradition.

There are about 5 or 6 people I have continuously sent Xmas cards to. I do try to send to my few out of town cousins also.
It is one tradition I'm sad to see fading, fading, and soon gone.

We were only good about sending out cards for a few years. Then we just kept forgetting and it would be too late to do it.

Plus, we haven't had a nice quality family picture since our 11 year old was a toddler. Now, we just have "selfies" and that's about it. Not really sure it's worth putting that picture on a card.

I do give cards to my son's teacher, paras, and therapists though...along with gift cards.
