Yes. A nice aged classico with fresh pasta and red sauce- sooo good.

For all you folks who hate wine...a little something for you from one of my fave shows. Sheldon was NOT a fan of it. lol

but I'll tell you what I LOVE - champagne.
Big champagne fan here, too. I don't buy it often (occasionally for New Year's), though. I will buy cheaper sparkling wines for special holiday drinks, like apple cider mimosas for Thanksgiving.

I drink on occasion, but not often. I don't have a high tolerance at all. But I like red wines and I'll have a glass when out to dinner or on holidays.

Love all this! Was it a hobby for you, or a potential career you were exploring? I once had a sommelier tell me "I drink for a living" - that still makes me chuckle. :goodvibes Having attended many wine tasting/food paring events, it's amazing how eating/drinking certain foods brings out the characteristics of wine and how distinctly you can recognize it, with a little instruction/definition of what you're experiencing. Fun! If I had a "wine buddy" I'd spend a lot more time doing this; hopefully it's somewhere in my future. :wave2:
It’s just a hobby. Although, if I retire in a few years I might consider working part-time for a vineyard or a wine shop. If you(or anyone else) has an interest in learning more check out the info here… https://www.wsetglobal.com/qualifications/wset-level-1-award-in-wines/. Cin Cin…

Don’t drink wine anymore. Used to have an occasional glass of Pinot Grigio but the radiation on my neck/throat area to treat the cancerous mass on my tongue makes having anything acidic impossible. Strictly a beer drinker now.

I drink wine, it depends on my mood and sometimes what I'm eating as to whether it's white or red. I have a small wine fridge in my basement and two wine racks (one for white one for red) that hold about 20 bottles each. Both are about 3/4 full right now and the fridge is full. I used to belong to a wine club at a small local wine shop and you would get 3 bottles a month. Hubby doesn't drink wine at all so it kind of built up. I have a bottle of white that I opened last night in my fridge right now. I'd say I probably drink wine about once or twice a week about every other week, if I averaged it out. I do drink a glass or two when we go out to eat as well. F&W used to be my favorite festival in the before times. I loved all the little tastings they had at the Festival Center and the meals with pairings were my favorite. I'm hoping with the new building they are putting up we will get those back. No excuse not to have the pairing meals at the restaurants after the trying times. My favorite was at Spice Roads Table but I also enjoyed the Tequila pairing at the Mexican restaurant on the lake (can't remember the name of it).

Question for those that enjoy wine tasting and vineyards…..

Have any of you visited The Biltmore?
If yes....did you do the tour about wine? (I don’t know what it consists of)
If yes…would someone like me, that knows nothing, enjoy it, or is it only geared towards people that understand wine?

My DH and I are wanting to visit The Biltmore and I don’t know if we should do this tour.

Yes, I drink wine. Reds only. In general, maybe once or twice a month with a nice meal. On vacation, depending on the type of vacation we're on, we will sometimes get a bottle most evenings ... Disney cruise, yes. European vacation where we're going to walk back to the lodging, yes. Most other vacations, not as much.

I have never been to Biltmore, but I have heard it's quite impressive.

The only one I have really done is in French Lick, IN and it was cool. (Pre Covid at least) you could get X amount of samples for a certain price. You got a sheet of paper and circled what you wanted to try. I think a tasting would be a good opportunity to kind of learn what you like (if anything): dry, semi sweet, sweet, red, white, or blush. Keep track of what you like and don't like. Once you get certain categories you like, you can start narrowing it down to some favorites.
