For Part 2 of Fall Mums….let’s discuss what you do with them.

Do you plant them yourself in your pots?
Do you plant them in the ground?
Do you buy them preplanted In a hanging basket?
Do you buy them preplanted in a standing pot?
(multiple choice)

For Me…..I plant them in my pots and preplanted in pots from the store?
Below ⬇️ circled in blue are the preplanted and circled in yellow is what I planted myself (sorry about seeing these pictures again)

The next below picture are also Mums I planted myself. The spike has been in the above pot ⬆️ and the below pot ⬇️ since Spring. The below pot had begonias and the above pot had several coleus.

One I replanted and the others I leave in their pots - sometimes I replant sometimes I don’t - it depends on the pots they come in and it depends on what look I’m trying to achieve each year it’s different

I leave them in the pots they came in. I’m inspired to try planting the two I have, though. Our neighbor across the street has a huge yellow mum in her front flower bed that’s gorgeous.

I buy mine pre-planted, but they aren't in nice pots, just those flimsy ones. - I transfer them to the ground in the small flower bed near my side door.

I've planted fall mums in the ground and had them return if the winter wasn't too cold. But we usually get at least one super cold snap to kill the plants like mums and tulips.

I usually leave them in the container they come in, but sometimes add them to existing pots.

Haven’t bought any this year yet. Summer flowers are still so pretty.

The ones I have were given to me as Thanksgiving gifts from a guest. They both come back yearly, but they are late bloomers.

I buy a few hanging basket and the four more to put in pots on our back deck. I used to buy them from a local garden center, Lowes or Home Depot. The last 2 years I've gotten them from a local Elementary's school PTA . They sell Mums as a fundraiser.

I have on old metal red wagon that I usually buy a couple mums and a pumpkin to put in. I haven't bought any this year yet because it's been really hot.

I picked 'other', just no fall mum plants at our place, but do have others.

Again, your place looks great, and :thanks:.
Thanks Dan and thank you for the thank you :goodvibes

I just bought one today. I always leave them in the pot they came in.

I just leave them in the flimsy plastic pots they come in.

I tried planting them in in ground years ago but most never came back the following year, so now I treat them as annuals and they get disposed of when the season is over.
