I thought the Slipper dessert at CRT was lost to me with all the recent posts about it no longer being on the menu. Some posters suggested calling the GF bakery to have one special made, but others posted that it could not be sent to CRT. :sad2: So, today as I was rechecking my "To Do" list for our trip in 3 weeks, I noticed my notes..."call CRT to check on slipper dessert." :scratchin

Well, first I called WDW Dining and they gave me the main switchboard number, which could connect me to CRT manager's office. The CM working the swtichboard told me IF CRT didn't answer, they did have voice mail and check it frequently. Well, I called around 3:15pm EST, which was between lunch and dinner hours so I got lucky and a CM...manager I assume answered. :goodvibes

I asked if the slipper was still available...no, it is not on the menu. :sad1:
But she said it could be special ordered... :cheer2:
I asked how and when I did that and the cost...you can speak with me right now and it costs $12.50.
The CM asked for my ADR number, to which I told her and she pulled up the ressie, calling me by name. She then asked what was the special occasion..."Christmas at WDW" I told her. :confused3 Hey, isn't that enough of a special occasion? She chuckled...asked if I only needed one...we're a party of 3. "Yes, just one...the boys (DH and DS) can do without...besides I'm the one who planned the trip so I deserve it." :rolleyes1

I asked if the slipper was available in dark chocolate...no. It is a white chocolate slipper with dark chocolate mousse. Ah, well, that will do just fine although dark chocolate is my absolute favorite.

I'm just thrilled that I can have a slipper dessert since I was so looking forward to it after my Dniece told me all about it after her trip in June. (She's absolutely my relative!!! :grouphug: ) Okay, I know there are some folks who will say...it's just a chocolate dessert and it's not all that it's cracked up to be. Well, to them...to each his own. I know there are some folks who were disappointed knowing that the slipper wasn't available anymore. Well, to them...don't despair...if you really want one and are willing to pay for it and make the arrangements, you can have it! :cloud9:

Now, I just have to be sure to confirm the arrangement a few days prior to my ADR.

I just wanted to share with ya'll!!

Glad you got your slipper. We did an Illuminations Celebration curise on Nov 19th and I ordered 7 slippers from the private dining number provided when I booked the cruise. They are truely great. Very rich and filling. Enjoy.

Your post sounds like you got a different phone number to call? If so, do you mind sharing (even via PM). I really really need to order this for Christmas dinner for DD.

Thanks.

Are you referring to my post or to the OP's post?

DH and I both gone one...courtesy of CRT for our honeymoon. CRT was our first dinner on our honeymoon....and the slippers are to die for....ENJOY!!! :cheer2:

I don't mind sharing the number at all...407-824-2222. (WDW dining told me this was the WDW main switchboard.) When the CM answered I said WDW dining gave me the number and said they could connect me with CRT directly. It took a few seconds and the CM stated she could connect me with the manager's office at CRT and if they didn't answer, they had voice mail, which they checked frequently. I would suggest calling at a non-busy time...I called at 3:15pm EST which according to my Passporter is between their lunch and dinner hours and someone answered on the first or second ring.

I'm not sure if there is a specific time frame for pre-ordering...I told the CM we'd be eating there in 3 weeks, then she asked for my ADR #. Since our ADR is on 12/20 I plan to check on our day of arrival 12/18 to confirm...or if I can remember I'll check the Friday before from home.

I hope this helps you! It's a good feeling to get to help someone else have a more magical trip... :goodvibes

I preordered one for my 11 year old daughter for a Park Faire Breakfast. She ate it all and enjoyed it, but we had to remind the waiter we had ordered one.

I want one! I want one!! :earseek: But...i don't like white chocolate :guilty: . I do hope that all of you enjoy yours.

So I should order this about 3 weeks in advance or can I do it now? We have 2 months yet but I wanted to finish firming everything up today. I would like to order one for my DS while we are at 1900 Park Faire.

I plan on ordering one for my girls when we have breakfast at the Grand Floridian. I plan on calling about 2 weeks before we go to order it.

I'd say call now and ask when to order it. Also if you're eating at 1900 Park Faire you may just want to call the GF bakery...that is what several people have posted they have done for locations at the GF. I'm not sure what the phone number is for the bakery, but it has been posted on the boards before...I believe they have a direct number so you don't have to go through the switchboard.

Hope this helps!

I think you call the Grand Floridian at 407-824-3186 and then ask to be directed to the Bakery, if you'll be eating at the GF :). I think you need to pay with a credit card beforehand too.

DH ordered one for me for my birthday dinner at Cindy's in 10 days!!!!!!!!!!!
