Slinky Dog Dash Worth It?

Thanks. This is what "I'm" thinking too....but will figure out a a plan and let my kids decide which LL they want to grab first.
If you or your kids decide that they want to ride it, I recommend hopping on line at night right before the park closes. Toy Story Land looks amazing at night (way better than it does during the day). It also won't be as hot and the line might be shorter.

Just to add some more data saw someone posted this in another thread it shows how late LL were available for different rides. Of course this is only availability and not return times but MFSR has been available into the afternoon pretty consistently so that may help with your planning. I think what you select as your first LL probably has to combine with your rope drop strategy.

Personally, I like Slinky Dog Dash but I would never wait in the lines it gets especially with the line being outdoors and mostly in the sun so I prioritize it as the first LL even though my return time may be later in the day. Then plan to rope drop MFSR, since most rope droppers are going to SDD or ROTR I like MFSR because it doesn't get as long at rope drop plus it is a ride that is great to re-ride with the competition aspect. Then do some filler attractions (Star Tours, Aliens, Toy Story Mania) to hit the 120 minutes after park opening, hopefully choosing MFSR to rope drop will get me out in less than an hour giving more time to these. Then I just optimize for close return times for things that are gone mid-afternoon TOT, MMRR, RRC.

That is all easier said then done of course with return times but that is just my personal plan till things go sideways 🙃

Thanks. Nice tip.

Thanks. That sounds like a good plan too....and I'm sure my son will want to ride MMRR twice (unfortunately I'll be skipping it as I have some health things I need to watch and have heard that it's rough).

Thanks too for the link. I'm a bit surprised though as it shows SDD sometimes still available into mid/ate morning (a couple past the 2hrs after park open)...and from when I was watching, I thought it was gone much earlier. Neat chart though and really helps to compare all. (Funny enough, I create my own spreadsheets of this kind trying to analyze the data and figure out a plan...lol)

Yeah, without ever riding it, it seems like it's a cute themed coaster but just goes up and down a few hills.
We've only been to WDW and DL once before. They enjoy Big Thunder, DS loved Guardian Tower ride at DL but they haven't been on the others mentioned in your post (they will probably this time though).

So seems like we should skip it and just book MF and then the others as they fit (Star Tours, Rock n Roller Coaster, Toy Story, Minnie (that's for me!)...and will purchase ROTR. We also have a lunch ADR to need to pay attention to the times of the LLs.
Just be sure to do RotR and Tower of Terror.

I love horrors so wish I could to Tower of Terror but the drop won't work for me (health issues). DS loved Guardians at Disneyland but he hates horrors. (And DD hated the drop on Guardians). So no Tower of Terror for us.

But...definitely doing RotR (will purchase LL), and pretty sure our kids will want to go on Rock n Roller Coaster this time.

We love the ride. I would say it's a perfect family coaster, unless your kids are avid thrill seekers. It's a fun and very smooth coaster with a nice surprise at the end. But again, if your kids only enjoy intense coasters, they may be so so about this ride.

I do think it's a must do at least once during your trip, and then you can judge whether or not you want to ride again. Get in line just before closing time for a short wait (and the ride is more fun at night anyway).

Riding it at night in the back is the best way to do it for us. We won't ride it if the wait is long, but we will happily book a late night LL or get in line right at park close. It's definitely a fun ride. The lights along the track and around the coaster are really cool -- but it's not the best ride in the park IMO.

That part does surprise me too, I imagine it is low availability by that point and most likely late night reservations. I think things like Remy moving to Genie+ from ILL$ is easing SDD a bit which could change come August if those move back to paid. I wouldn't want to start my 120 minute rule close at like 11 or 11:30 peak park hours unless I was mid-day lunching or seeing a longer show that would eat that time. My trip is coming up in a few days so we'll see if I can actually execute my plan.

We enjoy SDD. If you can ride it at night, it is so much better. My grandson L O V E S this roller coaster over any other ride-except Hagrid's at UO.

SDD is more fun at night when all of the lights are on. Since you have teens, a much better strategy would be to hop in line right before the park closes. That's what we've always done and we've never waited more than 45 minutes for it. Also, there is a single rider line for MF which moves faster. Be aware that the odds of someone getting pilot via single rider, though, is very low.

Really hope the keep Remy as a regular LL and not put it back to $LL. Both for it already being included, plus as you say, if it's pay, the other rides will go even faster.

Hot take; 7DMT is every bit as overrated as SDD. If it was longer I'd feel differently - but it's not. If the line is crazy we skip it, and I'm definitely not buying a LL for it. Agree on hitting SDD last thing after it cools down - it's not worth baking in the hot sun over.

We're retirees and, if the wait is below 40 minutes, we'll hop in line. It's a cute ride. It's not super slow like the Dwarf coaster at MK. Of course, it doesn't compare to RRC at all.

We’ve been on it once in 2019. Our daughter was 3 and she was scared and our son, 9 at the time liked it. I thought it was fun, we had fast passes and didn’t wait……the wait might change my mind.
