Ok, I stole this from another site, but it was too funny to pass up. Please keep in mind that it IS satirical in nature, and I'm not ACTUALLY calling all Republicans "evil", 'kay ? :teeth:

Have you noticed the similarities between the election this year and the two opposing groups in the penultimate battle of Steven King's "The Stand" ? It's actually kinda frightening ::yes::

Bush = Randal Flagg
Cheney = Flagg's second in command (can't remember his name at the moment)
KKKarl Rove = Trashcan Man (just burning everything in front of him, indescriminately)
Condi Rice = Flagg's girlfriend (apparently, I need to re-read the book...Can't remember her name either)

You've even got Zell Miller as poor, misguided Harold that betrays the good guys to go over to the dark side :rotfl:

Oh, and don't forget that in Vegas in the book, there was no drinking, no premarital sex, no "immorality" of any kind allowed, all the while corruption set in at the very top :teeth:

It's like there are two seperate camps, and people are flocking to join either one or the other, with very little to NO room in the middle.

I'm sure you guys can think up which politicos would play which parts on the "good guys" side, can't you ? The only one I haven't seen a good answer for is the ultimate spiritual leader, Mother Abigail.

Slightly political ehh, can't remember much of the miniseries but

Kerry - Certainly not the part that Gary Sinise portrayed (he's the guy played Lt. Dan in Forrest Gump).

Cute one on Bush, but you might want to swap Bush and Rove, because Trashcan man always said "The bomb, the bomb...."

Have a nice weekend wvrevy.

Nah...I'd make Howard Dean that part (Sinise's character)

And I thought about Rove in that part, but kinda liked the political imagery of KKKarl roving the landscape, hoping to find something else to blow up :rotfl:

I put "slightly" in the thread title just 'cause it was really meant as parody as much as actual political commentary. Like I said before, I don't actually view all republicans as evil....Just slightly misguided :teeth:

Can't believe I forgot Lloyd and Nadine's names...That's one of my favorite books, but it's been years since I read it....Thanks for the reminder Virgo10 !
