Slightly OT Disney Gift Cards Gift

We have been going crazy trying to decide the big gift that we can give to DH and DDIL for Christmas this year. We have thought about a laptop, but they have a tablet and use their phones for most things. They say they don't really want anything, but could use Disney gift cards for our upcoming trip next summer. With that being said, I really don't like to do gift cards at Christmas, because I feel like it looks like we haven't put any thought into our gifts. I know this is silly, but it's just me.

So now, I have decided that maybe the gift cards are the best thing, but I just can't put gift cards under the tree by themselves. Do any of you creative DIS people have any suggestions on how I can make them look cool under the tree? I am not going to wrap them. The wrapped gifts come from DH and myself, but Santa's gifts aren't wrapped. You're never too old for Santa, right? I thought about maybe putting them in small Disney stuffed animals, but not sure how creative that is.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks so much in advance.

Do you have an idea of what they'd like to use them for? Insetad of thinking about how to package them, what about figuring out the approx. dollar value of a specific thing and earmarking it for that. It'd be more like giving them a SPECIFIC gift you HAVE put thought into. Write up something like "this gift card is for dinner and drinks at _______."

Or pre-purchase Photopass for them? And present that with a frame or photo album?

If your budget is smaller, and they are souvenier shoppers, do something silly like attach the gift card to a hanger, wrap it in a shirt box and say "for a new Disney shirt" etc.

Thanks for the ideas. I have honestly thought about a tour or meal for them, but they have two little ones and I am not sure if they would rather use the gift cards to help pay for the room, souvenirs etc... We will be traveling with them, so we typically split the Photopass and share it. This is the first time they will be taking their "then" 18 month old son, so I am kind of hesitant to specifically mark it for one thing.

I do LOVE your ideas though! I will take all the ideas I can get!

I would tuck them in with something they could use on their trip: a pair of sunglasses, a basket with sunblock, antibacterial gel, etc...

We are doing something similar for our DD's this year. They are getting Disney gift cards for the Senses spa at the Grand Floridian so we girls can have pedicures on our next trip.

I'd make a gift basket of things to use at Disney or while traveling down. Sunblock, sunglasses, a tshirt maybe, ears? and then throw the giftcards in that.

Or maybe you could split up the giftcards and name them. "Date night out and babysitting by grandma and grandpa!" Or "Barber shop experience!"

Or you could put a homemade coupon/certificate in for the photopass (and therefore pay their portion as part of their Christmas gift.)

Ditto on the basket of useful goodies including gift cards, sunscreen, lip balm, etc.! Depending on your budget and if you know their shoe sizes a pair of rainbow flip-flops as well. They are my favorite walk-all-day-in-the-park shoes
