This is a bit off topic guys, but wondering if the french members could tell me if this site has a bad rep or is ok? www.leboncoin.fr As when i come to paris on monday i was thinking of buying a second hand computer from this site, i know the usual stuff to meet someone in a public place etc and ofcourse am wary, but wondering if in france this site might be know to be a bad thing or a good place to get bargains? its a french gumtree/craigslist kinda site. Thanks for helping guys! 4 days! AHHHHHHHHHHHH so excited

There is a lot of scams on it like on all these type of sites. Especially on electronic goods and phones (often stolen). They also seem to have a lot of dodgy tickets on there

We don't use it and I don't know anybody who does around me but I've got colleagues who use it in the Provinces with ok results.

You could get ripped off especially with an item like a computer which could have all sorts of things wrong with it that you wouldn't maybe see until later.

Or you could get a super bargain and it's all good.

Are you going to be able to try it out etc ?

If you like you can put or send me the link and I'll look at it and tell you what me and OH thinks :)

Yeah i wouldnt buy without trying it out, ive arranged to buy a few things and the people seem nice people, arranged to meet in public, at place de concorde and prob go to a cafe near, ive got my whits about me, but yeah was curious what the opinion on it was. Was gonna buy a laptop or maybe an ipad, only because ive been blessed with an AMAZINGGGGGG euro rate lol! i want a bargain haha. il let u know when im posting from my gold trimmed ipad that was 10 euros whether its any good! hahaha, JOKE! i think some of these sites are people just a believing things that really are to good to be true, like something rediculously cheap, im hoping because the things i want are same price as alot of others that theyre more likely to be genuine, ppl seem nice ive spoke to at least. I did cross one scammer wanting money wired to abroad, I told him he must be joking, lol.

I'll close this thread now, as you'll be able to discuss any more details between you by PM :).
