Slightly Different Luggage Question...

Hi~

I hope some of you cruise veterans can help this cruise newbie!!

We are staying 2 nights at Disney's Pop Century prior to our Disney Cruise. We are doing a 4-night on the Dream and then after the cruise we are going back to Disney for 5 nights at Disney's French Quarter.

Can we leave some of our luggage at French Quarter while we're on the cruise? There will be things that I want for the Disney World part of our trip that we won't need on our cruise.

Anyone have any experience with this or know if it can be done?

I've heard of it being done when someone is staying at the same resort before and after their cruise. Ultimately, it is up to bell services and they could potentially say no if they don't have room, but I've never heard of someone being turned down. The bigger question is whether WDW bell services would arrange transfer of your luggage to POFQ from Pop when you won't be checking into POFQ for 4 days. Will you have a car so you could drive the luggage over to POFQ that morning?

Yes. And Bell services at Pop should be able to have it transferred over to FQ, you don't have to do it yourself. [remember to tip appropriately]


Our Disney trip in November 2014 was:

Wilderness Lodge - Disney Cruise (7 nights Fantasy) - Beach Club.

Early in our WL stay I spoke with Bell Services to ensure what I planned was fine and they confirmed it was.

Early on WL checkout morning I took the luggage we wanted to leave down to Bell Services. We were leaving some sealed food, sealed drinks and some other items; all were in two well packed bags. I had printed info sheets at home before the trip, anticipating this, and each bag got one put inside it that had our name, contact #, and BC name and reservation #. On the outside of the bag I made sure I had a couple luggage tags with our name and contact # clearly on them.

WL Bell Services transferred the luggage to BC, where it waited in their long term storage for our arrival.

When we arrived at BC and were settled in our room, I called down to Bell Services to have our luggage brought to the room. I let them know we had two bags in their long term storage that had been transferred over from WL. They delivered all of our luggage

We tipped at WL when we dropped it off and at BC when they delivered it to our room. Worth every penny for me to have not had to take the time to transfer the stuff myself.

YMMV but this worked very well for us. We plan to do the same for our December 2015 trip, which will be WL - B2B Disney Dream cruises - AoA.

Thank you both so much for your help. Sounds like it might just work!!!

We will have a rental car that we're turning in at Cape Canaveral so we'll probably just drive the luggage over to French Quarter that morning before heading to the Port. That way we'll know it's there and won't cause the CM's the trouble of transporting it.
