Slight odd waitlist query - please help?

I have kind of a crazy question here, I am waitlisted for a GV at OKW from Oct. 16 to 23rd, and Member Services has said I can leave the waitlist in place until the last possible moment, ie, Oct. 15th. However, we will be on the DCL cruise then. Should I move the waitlist back to Oct 11, the day before we leave for the cruise or leave it alone? The points increase will not be a problem as they will come out of 2009.

I'm surprised that MS told you you could stay on the WL until the last minute. As far as I know, all WLs expire 7 days before the arrival date. After that you need to call daily to see if anything has opened up.

When you WL you have the option to go on the WL that expires 31 days before your arrival date or the one that goes to 7 days before. I'd give MS a call back to verify the information you received. I think they will tell you that your WL expires 7 days before the arrival date.
