Okay - so rundown of the day:

Magic Kingdom:
9 - 10 p.m.

This will be a second MK day.

Currently we have booked:

Harmony Barber Shop - 9 a.m.
California Grill Brunch at the Top - 10 a.m.
And now Tony's for the MSEP - 2:50 p.m.

I know I'm trying to figure out the impossible here... but I wish there was some way to push Cali Grill and the Barber Shop later to take advantage of Rope Drop. But I can't do Tony's later than that and take advantage of the dining experience.

LOL. I'm insane I think. The Brunch goes until 1. I would go at noon - but I'm pretty sure less than 3 hours between eating - we won't be hungry!

Do you think brunch at 11 or 11:30 would be worthwhile? That would be almost 2 hours low-crowd before skipping over to the Contemporary.

I know I can get Harmony Barber Shop moved to the afternoon no problem.

Yes, if you def. want to do the brunch, I'd try to do it as late as possible. Even moving it 11:30 and getting rid of the barber shop would give you 2 plus hours of the best that crowds will be for the day.

The brunch to Tonys seems like so little time. Do you absolutely need both? Also the Cali Grill will need about an hour just to get there and back (30 minutes walking/monorail each way) so you not only lose the eating time but the transportation time as well. You may only loose 30 minutes total (15 each way) but I always plan for not perfect but not disastrous which would be about 30 each way.

Also, you need to plan a minimum for 1.5 hours for brunch at Cali Grill to truly make it worth the cost.

Will you even leave the barber shop before 10am? I'd say that is a really tight schedule.

This is a messy day to me. Why not skip the brunch?

Do the Barbershop right after the parade meal while you are in the area and it's the hot/crowded part of the day?

I also don't think that Tony's viewing is worth the effort, but that's just me.

I agree, it is messy.

I really want to do the Brunch - it is only offered on this day. But I agree - I hate losing those morning hours. I could surely move the Barber Shop. That is not too much of an issue. I could skip the advantage of Tony's and the MSEP - but it would be super cool if we could include it.

That is my most frustrating part - the window between eating is super short.

I would not do both of those meals in the same day

Ya, it's insane. Even if Tony's was just an hour later - it would be so much better.

I really want to push that Cali Grill time... and the Barber Shop to later in the day.

It depends on what time of year you are planning to try this?

Default suggestion would be to drop your morning activities and enjoy the RD or skip RD rides and focus on the barber shop and dining selections. I have an issue with your Tony's lunch since you could always just get a FP+ for the parade or just watch from almost anywhere along the path.

I can't help you decide but to me, this just points out the flaw with the DDP. Guests are planning their days around where and when they can eat. Everyone is different, but to us, we go to Disney to do DISNEY. Like you, we have more than one MK for each trip and even then we have no meals planned for those days. In fact, for our September 8 day trip, we have 1 ADR. We will just stop and eat something when we are hungry, wherever we may be.

If I could offer advice, it would be to do RD, then the brunch if it were only offered that day I would cancel the others.

Okay - I'm going to do a 12:25 Brunch instead and move the Barber Shop to later... I'm thinking about trying to get a Chef Mickey's later that day if it opens up and move the Tony's to the day I have the Chef Mickey's and enjoy the MSEP package then. Dave 006 - you are right - we are going end Aug and the reality is we should have no problem seeing the parade that time of year anyways.

Where did the OP say her issue was using her DDP credits? She is tying to pack several meals she wants into a short window because the Brunch is only offered on the day she want Tony's new package.

I get that many people do not like the DDP, but that is not the issue here.

OP you do nto need the lunch event to see the MSEP. It is decent viewing, but what a challenge you have making it to the Hub area to view the Castle show.

I guess I just took the phrase dining experience to mean the DDP. And as I mentioned I understand that the DDP may or not be for everyone. I was sharing my opinion that I would forgo some of the meals and focus more on Disney attractions

We just got back from our trip. We had 2 barber shop appointments on 5/29. One for 2 yr old girl first hair cut and 4 yr old boy trim. Our appointments were at 9:00 but we didn't arrive until 9:05 because of a ferry boat delay. We had to wait on people in the chairs to finish up and we were still out by 9:40.

I know I'm probably in the minority here, but I will never do the barber shop again. There were 2 women and one man working that day. My son got the older gentlemen. I explained to him that my 4 yr old son like his hair longer and bangs just above his eyebrows. I also told him that we just wanted a trim, and that he didn't really need much off he just wanted to do because his cousin was. I really don't think he was capable of a hair cut that didn't involve sheers. He looked annoyed with me and asked if I wanted it short in the back. I said no, just a trim off of the back. I want to keep the hair style he has. When I sat down he grabbed sheers and cut off all my son's hair in the back. I was so annoyed that for all my vacation pictures my son doesn't even look like himself with the hair cut. When I first walked in and saw the "stylists" my first instinct was to walk out. I wish I would've now.

If I could go back I would've rope dropped rides and skipped the barber shop all together.

Thank you for everyone and your wise words!

I've realized that I am insane trying to fit both in.

I've moved my California Grill Brunch to 1225, and tomorrow I'll move the barbershop appointment to sometime after that. We'll skip Tony's or move it to later in the day. Or maybe we'll do something else altogether.

If I can get Chef Mickey's around suppertime, I'll see if I can fit Tony's in our Chef Mickey's lunch timeslot another day that week.

Rope drop is just too valuable for the type of Disney my family likes to do!

Are you now planning on doing the brunch and Chef Mickey's on the same day? I wouldn't do that. So much food and going back and forth from MK to CR twice.

I'm thinking yes. To me I don't find the Contemporary Resort really that far out of the way. My 5-year-old is in a stroller and we walk fast. It would only be two meals that day if we did this. We are on the DxDDP... so we do need to use those meals at some point! :) It's either that or we keep CMs on the original day and eat somewhere else. Either Tony's later, or maybe the Plaza or the Wave (but again - we are back to the Contemporary Resort for that one.)

Also - my kids don't gorge - so they will be hungry again at some point.
