SLIDESHOW QUESTION - I've been asked by my son's baseball team to put together a slide show for an upcoming fundraising dinner. I've got lots of pics of the kids to use, but not sure if this will need music or not.

Does PE5 or PSP have special slide show programs/effects? At this point I'm prepared to just put alot of pics together on a CD, and let them run that in the background during the dinner - no real special effects, no music (this will be at a sports bar; tvs all around)

Suggestions?

Thanks Y'all!:thumbsup2

I have PSE4 and use the slideshow creator all the time. As far as music/no music goes, I strongly suggest using music. It makes a huge difference in drawing people into the presentation. I have done 2 slideshows for my sons team and used Centerfield by John Fogarty both times, both were very well recieved.

Good luck!!

LOL; Centerfield was the only song that I could come up with! I think of that every time my son is on the bench!:rolleyes1

I agree music adds to the presentation; what i meant was I'm not clear on how they want to use this - it might just be streaming in the background, not a focal point.

Thanks for the suggestion!:thumbsup2

I use moviemaker on my pc. It lets me place pictures and music all together.

Moviemaker creates "movies" or video files. Programs that do that are good if you want to use special effects, complex transitions, pans, zooms, etc. They are also great for building slideshows to be shown on a DVD player.

For slideshows that will be shown on a computer and which do not need special effects, there is another type of software. This software just displays the photos rather than generating video. You cannot do nearly as much with it, but it's quicker to make slideshows, they take up less space, and the picture quality is better. Pictures2Exe is the software I use for this, although there are a lot of other good packages out there as well.

Either one is a good option, it just depends on what you want and how you will play back the slideshow.

For a sample of a Pictures2Exe slideshow, click the slideshow link in my sig. boBQuincy posted a wonderful video/movie style slideshow in this thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1323793. Don't be too put off by the small size of the video. He just did that to make it easier to download. A version shown off of a DVD player would look much more grand.

Jen,

I also have used "Beautiful Day", U2 and you might want to try looking for baseball mixes on itunes...good luck!!

I just tried creating a HD-DVD file in ProSHow Gold 3.0. It is a 1080p and is very large (400 MB) and took a looong time to render, but the quality is impressive. Not having a HD burner nor player I can only play it on my PC screen or my projector, but it looks really good!

For you music choices check out "I am the greatest" by Kenny Rodgers. You can also get the back ground music from Baseball tonight. The Star Spangled Banner is also good for the start of the Show. "Take me out to the Ball game", "talking Baseball", "the Mickey Mantle Song" are all also good baseball tunes. Gives it that old time feel.

Thanks for all the advice and suggestions! I'll take a closer look at it all this weekend! :thumbsup2
