Whats the best program to make a quality slide show in cd or dvd? I notice that the pictures lost quality and dosent look soo good when I transfer it to slide show in cd. I used Nero and Photo elements 6

A DVD video will never look as good as a picture displayed on a computer or printed. It is much lower resolution (about 1/3 of a megapixel) and suffers from a lot of compression.

Still, if you want to send out a slideshow that people can watch on their TV, there aren't any other good options. Someday when Blu-Ray becomes common (assuming that ever happens), pictures will look a lot better.

I take a different approach with my slideshows, but that requires that people watch them on a Windows computer. The advantage is that they look much better. You can see an example Disney one on my slideshow page at http://barbierifamily.org/slideshow.

Mark your photos are amazing and so many beautiful memories!!!!
I wish I could make some slide shows like this:scared:

There are some options for high quality slideshows. ProShow Gold can save shows to DVD format but can also save shows to HD and EXE formats. HD 720 or 1080 can be burned to HD or Blu-Ray or can be played on a digital TV from a computer.

EXE shows (such as Mark uses) have the best image quality and have to run on a PC. EXE shows are much more compact than DVD or HD shows but some transitions (such as slow pans or zooms) may cause the PC to skip or stutter. Simple fades work best with EXE shows.

Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere and Elements, and Flash are also used by some people to create slide shows.

Mark, what program do you use to create your slide show's.

My brother-in-law has some extra space (actually a lot of extra space) on his server and I was thinking of doing somethink like you have done and storing them on his server.

Thanks

I use a program called Pictures2Exe from www.wnsoft.com. I got it about 5 years ago, so it's entirely possible that there are much better tools out there today. They just came out with a new version that supports pans and zooms, but it has higher base machine requirements, so I still use the prior version.

It's quite easy to put the slideshows together. You pick the music you want (Disney sells many CDs with music from the parks), you pick the pictures you want and the order that you want them in. You tell it to synchronize everything and your done. There is some condiderable work and expense in taking and processing all the pictures, but if you have the them, making the slideshow is pretty easy.

Thanks for all your sugestions the program Pro Show Gold is just what I been looking for is very very good.
