Did anyone read the article about LL recently posted here on the Dis? There was a comment when describing the new resort…

• Treehouse-style villas

That phrase got me worried about the villas and whether the 1 bedroom will have a King size bed since the Treehouse villas only have Queen beds. That would turn a resort that I’m excited about into a big dud for me.

I think this is just the article writers choice of words. I don’t think it’s means anything specific.

I think maybe it’s referring to the decor style not necessarily the bed sizes.

I heard about Universal floating the idea of tracking total in-park spending on things like merch, food, express pass, etc. and then giving discounted pass rates or additional perks based on the amount your family spends.

No you always have to check in with the guard. Your magic band won’t work to open the bypass gate until you have used it to open the door to your room. My son had arrived before us and was in the room and my magic band wouldn’t open the gate even though someone in our party had already been to the room. The guard said each band needs to tap into the room before it will work on the car gate.

This is interesting, as when I stayed at Riviera in February, I bypassed the guard shack upon arrival and went to the "returning guests" entrance and tapped my MB. It let me right in.

This is interesting, as when I stayed at Riviera in February, I bypassed the guard shack upon arrival and went to the "returning guests" entrance and tapped my MB. It let me right in.

It's possible. Anything is possible. If I remember, I may try this on my next visit in October. 'If' you've reset the magicband you plan on using in MDE right before arrival and after room assignment, maybe it will work. Maybe not. Many times I've gone to the desk with one magicband and they supposedly 'fixed' my MB to work. Then I went to the room and eventually dragged out the other colors I might want to use and updated them myself. They then work seamlessly on my door and at the gate. During the time they were issuing free bands I accumulated 59 in my account. That's one for each of 59 trips, not how many I actually have in my possession because on many trips, more than half that number, I did not order but Disney sent a gray band to the resort for me, which I didn't accept or use. Those are still cluttering up my MDE. Can't get rid of them unless something has been implemented recently.

'If' they could clean out my account, I might actually purchase a favorite band. As it is I pay no attention to the for sale ones because they would only add to the clutter.

You can voluntarily call WDW IT and have it purge old bands. The front desk can also do this for you.

DH had an issue with his band while we were at HS. We stopped by Guest Relations and the CM who help us says “boy do you have a lot of magic bands!” We had a chuckle and she removed a bunch of them. His account looks more “normal” now

My family and I actually twice witnessed the filming of this in January in Magic Kingdom! Once they were filming in front of the tree on Main Street at park open (and in true rope drop fashion, we breezed on by without paying much attention), and once in the little nook/side street on Main Street after the fireworks one night. We stopped to watch and they politely allowed folks to stand for about 1/10th of a second and then ushered us on past. Lacey Chabert was in the shot both times.
