Slide a thon newbie needs help

Am I the only one finding every single room's queue full? I just want to make sure I understand this. All I have to do is find a slide a thon room (pink start, purple start, etc.) that is open and wait in line. I don't have to start in a certain room or place, do I? Once I actually get in line, what should I expect? I went into one room listed as slide a thon and it was a riverboat room with a line and no owner. I'm guessing it was an "unofficial" room so I left. I'm just a bit confused now.

Since I can't get into any rooms right now, does anyone have a suggestion for what time of day or night EST might be better?

The trick to host rooms is to, as Dory in Nemo says:

"Just keep clicking, just keep clicking..."

I finally got into a room (before getting dc) and I couldn't see myself...just a bunch of other people getting on the ride. Does that mean I'm waiting in another line somewhere or was I already dc? I'm just so confused by all of this for some reason.

Once you are in the room, all you need to do is click on the start of the slide and you will start your ride.

Well, I couldn't even see my character to do that.

Okay, so I just got into another room but I was at the bottom of a slide. Then when I tried to get on I accidentally exited into the last part where I end up in the pool...no sliding, no prizes, nothing...just at the end of the whole thing.

So once again, what is the name of the room I need to get into to start this thing from the beginning? I somehow started at the bottom and ended up with no prize.

First try to get into one of the slide-a-thon start rooms. You may not see yourself because you are probably hiding in the entrance to the room. Click on the track nearest to the door or whereever you are standing to start on the ride. Then just ride the ride. At some point you should see a message saying that you got a ride piece.
Keep riding until you splash down into the pool. Then repeat!
