Sleeping Beauty - on the Magic?

My 4 1/2 y.o. DD is the odd child whose favorite princess is Sleeping Beauty. On the Wonder 3-day, she was about the only Princess M.I.A.

This was heartbreaking to my DD - one of the CM/character wranglers told her the "Sleeping Beauty missed the ship this time..."
But I'm wondering if that was true, or just a convenient white lie to the unhappy 4 1/2 y.o.

We managed Cinderella, Ariel, Snow White, & Belle - and even happened upon Mulan in the hallway (as well as wendy, peter pan, and a host of others!) but no Aurora.

Can anyone who has sailed the Magic before tell me if Sleeping Beauty is a regular there?

T.I.A.!!
:) :) :)

She was on the 7 day western double dip last November. Sorry your little one missed her.

It is possible she was ill? I know they are super strict when it comes to CM's being ill. She may have been in quarantine if she had any flu symptoms. Our housekeeper was put into quarantine because she developed a low grade fever.

Just guessing.

I've seen her on the Magic. I tend to notice her because my 25 year DD was always a Sleeping Beauty fan. During our many visits to WDW which began when she was 3 years old, we never could find her.

For each trip, I always got up at the crack of dawn to call in at the precise moment to book breakfast in Cinderella's castle. I'd make a quick scan when we'd be seated and never, ever saw Aurora.

During one visit, DD was standing by our table when I told her to turn around. There she was, Sleeping Beauty. DD was a teenager at this point and was so surprised that she started crying. That set me off. So there we are, the two of us, wiping our eyes and feeling so embarrassed.

Good luck! I understand how important it is to get a chance to meet that favorite character. :)

Sleeping Beauty was on the Wonder last May when we sailed but no Ariel. I have her autograph from the cruise; would you likeme to send you DD a letter from "Sleeping Beauty" saying how sorry she is that we missed her? I don't mind at all. She is my DD's favorite too so I understand the frustration.

Princess Aurora is usually on the Magic. When we sailed, she was in her pink dress and appeared on Saturday night, for the Princess signing, and the till we meet again event. Others have reported she sometimes appears in her blue dress.

Also, in one show we saw, the CM playing Princess Aurora doubled for Cinderella.

Well we're hoping she's on the one in November - while Cinderella was *so* wonderful to her the last time (more than once) Sleeping Beauty is *it* in this house - so crossing fingers.

I'd be crying too :)

Thanks!

Thank you for the offer! If she doesn't make it on the one in November - I may just take you up on it!

Ariel was on ours - but no Aurora.

I suspect it's a matter of availability - but very tough on the little ones!

((hug))

Thanks you guys... I have more hope now that she'll be there in November.

If not? Well, I guess we'll cope.
She did love seeing the other princesses too...

And besides, it will give me a good excuse to book another cruise! :)

Our two DDs have rival Princess favorites

DD5 LOVES Cinderella
DD3 LOVES Sleeping Beauty

If one sees "their" princess and the other one doesn't, we'll definitely have issues. :sad2: :scared1: :scared1: :sad2:

Here's hoping both are on the ship and Feeling Fine next June!:cheer2: :cheer2:

Just to up your chances of seeing SW, I'd mention to the CM's in the kid's club that you missed her last time and that your little one was devastated. Ask them to give you a quiet heads up ahead of time if she's going to be making a surprise visit to the kid's club. She dropped in and read a story to my son and the dozen or so other kiddos that were there at the time. We had no idea she was coming. He was thrilled!

Hope she's on the Magic for you!!! Whenever I think of Sleeping Beauty on ship I think of ashman's trip report - see p.9 Even though it was from the Wonder it still brings a tear to my eye. :goodvibes
It can be very upsetting for a little princess not to see her favorite dp - Our dd is 4 1/2 and her favorite is Snow White. I truly don't know who will be more upset if we don't see her next month onboard. I just want it all to be so magical for her, so I understand your concern. Good luck! pixiedust:

I feel your pain! My DD's favorite princesses are Jasmine and Ariel, neither of which are on the Magic, if I have my information correct. I have already told her that they won't be on our cruise. She was definitely dissappointed.

My DGD was dressed as Jasmine and Jasmine wanted to know where Allie bought her shoes!! Jasmine liked them so much!! Needless to say, Allie was in 7th Heaven.

Oh now I'm excited!!! I won't tell my DD this just in case Jasmine isn't there. It'd be a nice surprise for her!

Kira brought her entire collection of Princess ragdolls with her, and showed each one to each similar "live" Princess - they all ooh'ed and ah'ed... if they weren't so bulky & pricey, I'd buy one for each CM this time around...
But here's a pic of her with Ariel and Ariel! (I have them of the others too, just not posted)

I'm fairly sure that if they're in a show that has them, they are on there... I hope they all show up! :)

But we just tell Kira that Princess X is desperately needed at home by Prince/King X and that's why she couldn't come on the boat this week.

But we saw the pre-Broadway show of Little Mermaid here in Denver a couple of weeks ago - and afterward she informed me that 'that wasn't the real Ariel - that was some girls and boys pretending to be Ariel and the others - because the real Ariel lives on the boat! lol...

Oh! You're in luck!!
Snow White is my favorite too - and she for SURE is on the magic - even if the CM is sick, they have an understudy, because of the Do-si-doh with Snow White in the Oceaneer's Club!! :)

I've got to go back and finish reading Ashman's TR - I was most of the way thru it when we sailed last march and forgot to read the finish - but he's the one who was responsible for our Mickey Tie-Dyed shirts which went over so well :)

Just an update - we did NOT see Sleeping Beauty on the Magic (Eastern) last week. We did see Belle, Snow White, Cinderella and Pocahontas. Ariel was only in the show (Disney Dreams, I believe). We did not get a chance to do the final farewell show, so that could have been the only other time she may have been there. No Jasmine or Mulan either.
I hope it works out for you!!!!!!!!

ARrrrgh....
Ratsphooeyphooeyphooey!!

Well thanks for letting me know - I guess I'll have to start prepping DD in advance again just in case. I sure hope she gets back on there before November :(

Appreciate the update!!!!!! thank you!!!!

On 5 cruises, we have only missed her once. Our 8 y/o is a big Sleeping Beauty fan...........

In our 5 DCL cruises there was only one with no Sleeping Beauty. Im guessing they dont have a backup if the one person who is in that role is off the ship for whatever reason.

She was even lucky enough to have a private meeting with her on the Magic in 2006!
