First time cruiser - we have 10166 on the Fantasy. I know our attendant will turn down the beds for us. My question is around sleep arrangement for my son. Are we able to have him use the bunk vs. couch so that we aren't trying to skirt around his 'bed' in the evening? I am envisioning spending lots of evening / night time on my extended verandah sipping on my imaginary cocktails :stitch2: :stitch:

What time do they turn down our beds? And is there a big difference in comfort between the bunk and couch for him to sleep on?

TIA :sail:

Yes you can request to have only the bunk bed down for him however they both protrude from the walls the same distance
Not my picture btw

As others have pointed out DCL couch beds are not the same as your normal idea of a couch bed. These do not pull out. They fold down and have a twin mattress on the back of the couch. It takes up no more and no less room than the couch does any other time. The only advantage you would have of using the bunk is you could stills sit on the couch but not sure if you would want that.

Unless it has changed my room on my last cruise rm 12508 had a full pull out couch. Now that might be for a room that sleeps 5

There is a twin sized murphy bed in some rooms, and this will block the door.

Only the concierge rooms have that feature. Deck 10 rooms are not concierge.

do you know if you can request to have it changed to a couch like is in the pic that is displayed in this thread

When you meet your room attendant on the first day, just let them know how you would like your room set up.

You can not request that furniture be changed as they don't really keep spare pieces of furniture on the ship. What is in the room is what is there and can't really be changed.

Oh, did they mean that they wanted a pull out sofa instead of the existing sofa? I thought she meant can you request how you want your room turned down for the night...

Not 100% sure what they meant. I know when we used the couch and pull down in our standard veranda they always switched it back to the couch in the morning and put the bed away while we were out so I'm not sure what else they could have asked for besides wanting the couch that folds down instead of pulls out.

We weren't able to sit on the couch when the bunk was set-up as we had to bend our neck at an awful angle to sit there.

We were just on the Dream over Christmas. When we returned to our room after dinner and the show on the first night our room hostess had made up the bunk bed ( out of the ceiling) for DD. She was not happy about being up high, so I just called and within a few minutes a room host came and put the bed back up, and turned the sofa into a bed. If I had known it was so easy I would have done it myself!
