Heading down for my annual trip next week and this time I'm bringing a guest. In all the years of going to the BWV's I've never slept on the sleeper sofa or had anyone with me who has. ;) The couple of times my brother and his family joined us I got a 2 BR.

So for anyone who has recently been there and has utilized the sleeper sofa, how are they? Will my friend wake up stiff or are they still pretty comfy.

Thanks!

The BWV sleeper sofa is different from most of the others (it's like the one at BCV). It's more of a true mattress rather than a three section foam pad like most of the others. It's not as good as a bed, but it's probably better than the old, old style one where you felt the bars under your body.

This one opens by flipping the back of the sofa forward and the cushions stay attached with Velcro.

Thanks for the info. :thumbsup2

I knew that they were different from the others but I'm hoping that the one we get is still comfy for my guest. :goodvibes

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...the BWV sleepers are awful. We ended up checking out of BWV due to this and getting a 2bedroom at OKW. One end was about 10 inches lower than the other.

May I ask what room that was?

I sleep on the sofa bed every trip. (DH snores so much that I am happy to let him have the king bed all by himself. :lmao:) While the sofa bed is not as good as a real bed, it is just fine for me. The only complaint I have is that the arm of the couch is kind of in the way when you get up, so it is a little clumsy. A real plus is that we always book BW view and often I can leave the drapes open and look at Spaceship Earth as I fall asleep, thinking how lucky I am to be in WDW.

Hi Jean! Well that's good news about the sleeper. I always get a BW view also so she can either leave the drapes open or closed. Me personally; I'd love to keep them open to appreciate that view!

I can totally relate to the snoring :rotfl2: Many a nights here home I wind up in my son's room (it's still HIS room even though he's out on his own..haha) due to hubby's snoring!!

Actually now that I think of it, this is the first trip I've taken in a very long time with a "companion". Usually this time of the year is the annual "Mommy Only Trip"! Hahaha...DH never comes in the Fall.

Thanks for the info! Have you been "home" this year?

I think that is a picture of the old sleeper. Two of my girlfriends shared a studio. They intended to switch off between the bed and sleeper but the first found the sleeper very comfortable and opted to stay with it and she is 6ft.

Thanks! Good to know!

No, that's the current sleeper sofa at BWV and BCV.

Yup, that's the current sleeper sofa. We attempted to get it switched(this was a year ago) with the "older" type, but were told that there was nothing they could do. DS had slept on the sleeper at BLT with no complaints at all.

They were supposed to send someone to the room to see if maybe something was broken on it(walked to the front desk to make this request), but we never saw anyone.

I frequently sleep on the sofa bed at BWV. I've found it to be quite comfortable. As someone else mentioned the problem is the arm rest is in the way when you get out of bed but it's not that big a deal. In fact, I'll be sleeping on it a week from today and I can't wait.

Ms WDW, I was at BLT in March and BWV in April. DH and I will be at BWV starting Oct. 20 and then again Dec. 6.
Enjoy you trip!

We were in a one bedroom at the BWV last spring break, and our DD slept on it every night. One night her friend (staying at the Inn side) even had a slumber party, so the 2 girls shared it. It was very comfortable for one person, fine for 2 teenagers as they were so tired they crashed! I would sleep on it if I had to really.

Sorry the PP had a crappy one - I am sure it can happen. If we got one that was bad, I'd call and see if it was possible to either move rooms or have them swap it out (not sure but they may keep a few spares of things for situations like broken furniture).

We're going again next spring break, just me and DD this time probably, so we'll do a studio and she can have the double sofa sleeper if she doesn't want to share the bed with me.

My friend will be on it 7 days from now also! :thumbsup2

Your friend can always use a memory foam mattress topper. I got one on groupon a couple years ago for a hundred bucks and I use it for airbeds when camping. It may be better than my own bed.

I am happy to report that the sleeper sofa bed is comfortable! No problem with it at all.
