We have 8 nights booked @ Sleep Inn Maingate for Oct. We got a hard to pass up price. We don't need alot out of a hotel. This offered close location, microwave, refrigerator and free breakfast which is the basics we needed. We don't spend alot of time in our hotel so the fancy stuff doesn't benifit us much. So does anyone have any reviews? I got mixed on different trip reports. Either love it or hate it. Also, my kids are Pizza Hut loving kids. Any close? We are on Bronson Mem. Hwy.

We stayed there several years ago when it was new. It was nice then. I've thought about staying there since but becuase of many bad reviews, I've been afraid to stay there again.

there is a pizza hut real close to this property ....like maybe just across the street and a McDonalds just in front of the hotel

if memory serves me correct they do not have bath tubs but showers at this location at least the room we had was like this...a fine location if you are not spending a lot of time at the "hotel"

the continental breakfast was fine but we had trouble getting a seat....but that too could depend when you are there and how full the hotel was ....there seemed to be a large foreign contingent staying there

thanks for the info. i did read it did not have tubs, but thats ok with us. i just didnt want to stay in a dump. for $27 per night i can deal with alot especially since we dont spend alot of time in our room. i do really like the ref and microwaves, but the price i love.

lawgs, when did you stay there? I wondered if it was recently. The price is usually good here but I've been afraid to stay again because of the bad reviews I've read. I think it was 2000 when we stayed there and it was new so everything was still nice.

We booked this hotel October 7-11 for a total price of $118.00 through Easyclick Travel.Since this was a last minute trip we were looking for a great deal to match the great airfare we got, $98 RT from Los Angeles to Orlando. We spend most of our time at WDW, so as long as it's clean we will have no complaints with this hotel. :earsboy: :earsgirl:

we stayed there in 2004 january a couple of nights before we went to Vacation Village

room was smallish but adequate for us.....we actually ended up getting into Vacation Village early so we did not use it the second night....just went back the next morning to check out

we also got it on EasyClick travel ......it was something like 20$ a night then

lawgs, or anyone, did you use the free shuttle service? we have a rental car (my family of 5) and my sister, her daugher in law, and grandson will have a car. the daugher in law is pregnate and may want to come back to the hotel to rest. just wondering if the shuttle is a pain. thanks again for the input. it makes me feel better others say it is ok.

We have been to WDW around 20 times and have always used a rental car to get around even when staying at a WDW hotel. One of the complaints on tripadviser was about the shuttle service and the response from the hotel was that they use the service as many other hotels in that area so if you use it you might have many stops before you get back to the hotel. This hotel is very close to AK so it's only about a 8 min drive (the back way),Epcot and Disney Studio about 15 min and MK about 20 min.The Magic Kingdom is very hard to leave and come back to because you need to take a boat or monorail just to get to the TTC to get to your car or shuttle, so all in all id say to plan on driving if you want to take a midday break. :wave2:

hi
the only downside we found was the constant banging of the end corridoor doors, because it is an hotel not a motel. people seemed to use the side entrances as that is where their cars were parked. as all the doors were electronic enter doors, the rooms as well, people just let the doors bang . this went on until about 2am. it drove me mad, perhaps i.m just a light sleeper. we gave 24hrs notice cancelled and left. went quality inn main gate west basic clean limited continental breakfast good shuttle servive and blissfully quiet. only 20 days until we go there again. :cool1:  :cool1:
