Sleep Inn Maingate -- any thoughts on it?

I'm thinking of going in April and maybe staying here but am wondering about the experiences anybody has had with it. They advertise a full complimentary breakfast buffet and free shuttle to the parks. Sounds nice but how is it from a guest's point of view? Thanks in advance for your opinions -- good, bad or indifferent -- I appreciate them all.

Yes, we stayed there in February of 2002. We really liked it. It was just my husband and I and my 4 year old. The rooms were clean, and staff was friendly. My husband and I both fought over the shower massage - awesome after a day of walking the parks!! The rooms are small, but my feeling is that you're not there except to sleep anyway. Like most all Sleep Inns, there is only a shower stall - no tub - so don't know if that would be an issue with your kids.

The breakfast was your typical continental breakfast - doughnuts, fruit, a few cereals, bagels - that type of stuff. The food was good though - just don't expect bacon or sausage or anything really filling.

We didn't use the free transportation, so I can't speak personally about it, but the way that I hear that it works is that the bus is not just strictly for that hotel. It will stop at several hotels on Irlo Bronson, so it could take you forever to get back to the room. But each morning at breakfast the van driver came in and called for all those ready to go. He seemed friendly enough - we just decided to drive ourself since we had a stroller and all our gear.

It took us probably 10-15 minutes to get to the park gates each day. It is further down than you expect - we thought we had gone too far when we first showed up, but it really isn't that far. I guess it just seems like it since you'll pass what seems like a ton of hotels before you get to it.

We would definitely stay there again, as long as the kids are little. With older kids, it would probably be cramped for the entire family.
