My American Express bill came in the mail today.

Now, I hate carrying cash and use my AX for just about everything - groceries, gas, whatever - and I pay in full every month - never carry a balance.

Today's bill, however, has charged on it:

My ASMu reservation
3 Adult Disney park tickets
3 La Nouba tickets
3 Airplane tickets

*gulp*

3K+ ... on one bill.

Ok, it's not like I didn't know it was coming - it's just a shock to finally see it. I have the money saved up to pay it off, but still!!!

Thank goodness I have a cash back card.

I also use my Amex card for everything...if your balance came in my bill my husband would kiss you :rotfl::rotfl:

You should have seen my Visa Bill the year I took my whole family to WDW. Rented a Villa, bought their tickets, paid their airfare and paid for rental cars...then my car broke down to the tune of $3500.00. My total bill for that month was over $7000.00 and that was only because I had prepaid for some of the stuff. If it hadn't been for that...it would have been even higher. Gasp! I paid it off immediately but it took weeks for the check to dry from my tears before they could cash it.:rotfl:

That last part isn't true. I paid it on-line but my computer nearly shorted out as I typed out the numbers. Electronics and tear drops do not go well together.

Yeah, but you get to go to Disneyworld! It would be a lot harder to swallow if the bill was for something boring like a new transmission!

True but half of that was to replace the head gaskets on my car so I could drive it back from Florida to Vermont. That one was a real hard pill to swallow.
Then before I got out of Florida I had an almost brand new tire blow out on I-95. I was starting to think that since I was bolstering the economy of Florida they really didn't want me to leave. :)

That's how it is around here when I have to pay the card I put DD's tuition on...try $11,000 plus the normal monthly expenses--every six months! :scared1: Geez I hate parting with that money.

Shocking for sure, but it's a GOOD kind of shock right? Have a terrific trip! I'm so jealous!

We are waiting on a statement like that ourselves - just paid balance on our March trip last week, and a have a few other large items as well. It doesn't matter that you know it's coming and have the money to pay it off - it is just a BIG number to see!

Especially when you know that when they are done with college they are just going to move back in with you anyway. Could have saved the middle man and given them a library card and told them to read. Would have been a lot cheaper.:rotfl2:

:rotfl:

You all are great - if anyone understands, it's fellow Disers who've been there.

Our latest credit card statement was just over $4,000. We knew it was coming. Repair work to DH's truck of $1,000 and the rest was our Florida/WDW/cruise vacation from January. We had the money in savings so paid it in full. We get points on that card and we're getting close to a free 3-night cruise. :) We just booked another cruise on that card yesterday, for DH and myself, and my Mom and her friend so the deposit went on that, and we'll use that card to pay the balance. That much closer to the free cruise. :)

I have a love hate relationship with my AMEX card. Argh. I think my current bill is around $2500. Just paid the last one, $2800. Ick. Nothing special on it either, sad. I really need to start carrying cash!

I don't know....if you really do use your card for everything AND you added all those additional vacation expenses on it as well...... you are doing something very very RIGHT. :thumbsup2 My bill looks like that without vacations. And I'm not a frivolous shopper in the least.

So pat yourself on the back and enjoy your trip!!

Ditto! Our average Visa bill is around $2200 a month. We charge EVERYTHING and pay it off in full when we get the bill. In the months when we have extra spending (Christmas, vacations, repair bills, etc.) it's even higher!

But we get enough miles for a free domestic airline ticket every year, so it's all good! :)

Gosh, really? Usually I feel like I've had a bad month if I go over $1000.

The only things I don't charge on that AX are: any vet expenses (they dont take AX), insurance bills (like car, house) since those are bi-annually, and smaller misc things (like the guy who sprays our yard for weeds 3 times a summer). Oh, and our local utilities. I'm not even sure if they take CC payments (may have to look into that to get the cash back on the CC!).

Food, gas, household stuff, medical ... all on the AX.

We never use cash either. Everything goes on our CC and gets paid at the end of the month. My husband would be thrilled at that balance. LOL We seem to go through that much monthly without adding in vacations.

OMG...I would die if we ever spent that much for just 3 of us to go on vacation to WDW!
