Does anyone else think that the old Skyway building is such a waste? They should make it into a resturaunt or something cool. It is a unique building and there are many ways it can be put into use.

I definitely agree. I thought I heard several years ago that they were considering making a TS resturaunt there, but apparently nothing came of it.

I'm with ya on putting a TS in there. The view from up there has to be good of the castle and fantasyland, I am guessing. On top of that MK could use another TS thats not a character meal. :wave2:

Ski tram Swiss Alps Bratworst sandwich shop type thing would be neet.

totally agree, a ts would be lovely. I enjoy LTT but that is really all there is. Well with the exception of Tony's which is not my favorite.

I still remember riding the skyway. It was nice. All in all,I wish they would just bring it back

I believe that building is too small for a restaurant of the size necessary for it to be a viable option. I think it's most effective use would be character greetings.

I'd love to see another TS restaurant. The options are so limited and it is getting harder and harder to make ADR's for you times. :flower:

There has never been any official explanation for why the Skyway attraction was retired. As a rule, theme parks need not explain why they change their offerings year-to-year, as those are internal decisions, and often the explanations, if offered, aren't sufficiently appreciated by the general public to make providing such explanations worthwhile.

The Skyway building I was referring to is in Fantasyland, on the right of the path between It's a Small World and the Haunted Mansion.

I was just looking at some of my old WDW photos from 1975 and the skyway is clearly visible in several pics! I had totally forgotten that it even existed until I saw those photos. I agree that the building should be made into something else....we've been several times since 2000 and it just sits in the corner of the park. In Sept of 2003, they did have a character meet and greet with Dopey and Doc. It's such a cute building, it would look nice with a face lift and landscaping....

Where is this building at?

If you come out of the restrooms beside Peter Pans Flight, and look across from you (slightly to the left, I think), that's where the station is, if I remember correctly.

I think the MK has far too few restaraunts, especially in this area.

I think this would make a great place to eat and sit and relax. It needs to be used! I hate when I just see it sitting there and wish I could just walk up that path to just see what it looks like up there after so long with no use.

I'd love to be able to just go in there and look around. Surely they have a reason for it still being there. However it really looks bad that both stations still sit there like they do, but again, for Disney to keep them there this long with nothing going on, you'd think they have a BIG plan in store, maybe replacing them.

I really dont care what they do as long as they do something. I'd be very happy if they did something where they can keep the buildings as they are, and use them.

I think it looks really nice, and it is in theme with the shops across the street. While it might be nice to close up the portals for the skyride, I don't think those openings take too much away from how nice the building itself looks, just as background for that part of the park.

I agree. Before I realized what they were from things like the disboards, I just assumed it was a pretty building. Maybe for storage or something. Never thought too much about it.
