According to radio commercials and an ad in Orlando Weekly, David Lee Roth is playing the mardi gras concert this Saturday--as of last weekend, it was schduled to be Leonard Skynard.

As a child of the 80s and VH fan I'm happy, but my friend Jen is kind of disappointed. Anyone know why the change? Anyone heard more changes announced?

One of the band members had bypass surgery. They have had to cancel several dates.

He's useles without Van Halen. From what I've seen, Bike Week is getting bands. Last week the Allman Brothers were at Mardi and Foghat was at Bike Week. This week would've been better for Mardi, but instead we got Roth and Bike Week has the Blue Oyster Cult. *sigh*

I just returned from the concert. David Lee Roth only did one of his songs. The entire concert was full of VanHalen songs. If you thought that DLR was going to be a bad replacement for Skynard you were further from the truth. He had the place rocking. Normally you would see tons of people leaving the park after the parade. The yard was packed the streets in front of Monster Cafe was loaded the area in fron of Monster Cafe was also packed. I don't think alot of people left after they heard that the DLR concert turned out to be a VH concert.

Yes... I retract all my previous statements. Although I like Skynyrd better, Roth was definately the second best concert USF has had.
