I need a little help from budget conscious people who try to be smart with their money and credit score.
Currently our only debts are mortgage and car payment. We use a visa from our CU to do the vast majority of our monthly expenditures and earn 1% cash back annually on it and pay it off monthly. We have one other Visa and one other MC that both have a zero balance and we have several store cards (Kohls, Target, etc). Our credit scores are excellent.
We are trying to plan a few Disney vacations next year that would include flying from SLC to MCO for a cruise/WDW vacation. DH has enough SkyMiles currently for 2.5 tickets. If we open a Skymile AmEx account we can get 30,000 bonus miles and quite possibly rack up the rest of the points to get the other 1.5 tickets we need to get the flight we want. (Need to do this soon before the millage goes up on these flights!)
But since we are planning to do DL, WDW and DCL all in the next 12 months, I am having a hard time passing up the Disney Visa Rewards Card application that just came in the mail offering a free $200 GC.
How foolish is it to apply for both of these cards at nearly the same time? How badly will it affect our credit scores? Should we just pick one or the other and if so, which one?
ETA: I know that there are minimum purchases to make to get these perks. The idea would be to switch our monthly spending to the AmEx card to get the airline miles since they seem to be worth more than the Disney points unless I am missing something.

) and I would get $615 the first year and $465 a year thereafter. At year 2+ it works out to 3.8% cashback on spending $6,000 each in grocery and gas after annual fee.
