Skyliner vs bus transportation

We are visiting only Hollywood Studios and are debating between Caribbean Beach Resort and Port Orleans Riverside. There's a small possibility that we would want to go back in the afternoon to the hotel for a break. About how long does it take to take the skyliner back to CBR vs the bus back to Port Orleans, say around 2:00 pm? In April, if it matters.

The Skyliner runs and loads continuously, so no waiting. The ride from DHS to CBR is about 10 minutes.

The bus ride from DHS to POR is 15-20 minutes depending on which internal stop at POR is yours. And if you miss a bus at DHS, you might wait 20+ minutes for the next one.

So CBR definitely wins the midday return to the room race.

Skyliner to CBR - about 6 minutes. At that time of day you should be able to walk right on
Bus to POR - about 13 minutes actual drive time. Doesn't include waiting for bus to arrive

And yes, I have actually timed both. I'm weird that way. lol

And that is SUCH a cool ride between HS and CBR. I swear it beats Pandora for cool if you are heading over the trees from HS to CBR around sunset. It usually loads pretty fast, so don't panic if you see a line. With someone riding for the first time, I sometimes ask for one without graphics so the view out is more clear. So I vote for CBR ;)

Or equipment breakdown. And if either of those happen and they revert to busses to CBR, that will take a while to get sorted out, likely negating any time savings.
True. The transportation system, whether bus, boat, or skyliner, is not 100% perfect. That's why Boardwalk is the better option for HS and EPCOT - so walking and boats are available (with the skyliner more of a nearby fun ride than a park transport theory). But Boardwalk tends to be a very pricey option - and Skyliner is usually running fine unless there is a big storm or it's down for its scheduled annual maintenance (in the past, around 6-10 days in January but not showing anything for 2025 as of yet).
