Hi, I'm a skyauction newbie. Can anyone answer a couple of questions? What is the difference between the Ready, Set, Go auction and the regular skyauction? And when people are bidding $50 or so.....this is per night...right? I realize that there would be an additional $129 for the total week.

Has anyone seen the Sherton Vistana Villas go for less than $250 for the entire week?

Does the Sherton Vistana Villas ever go up for auction per night? We need a condo for 5 nights and then are staying at Royal Pacific Resort in Universal.

Thanks for your replies!!

RSG auctions usually go for less and allow you flexibility in choosing the time of your vacation, that being said, the inventory they have do not include "better" resorts ( subjective here ) such as Orange Lake or Sheraton Vistana, those resorts usually are being done on a "single resort" basis and the auction go for more $$$

You would be lucky to get Vistana resort for 250$ for the week....you might, just might get if for a good price on a "last minute" type auction which they sometimes have for Vistana, but you would have to be very flexible/last minute planning in that instance

Even if you did not need the resort for the entire week, you could win an auction for a week and just use part of the week ( in your case 5 days )

you would just have to tell the staff you have to leave early ....it is no loss to them ...you have paid for 7 nights.....

now that being said, the bid per night auctions are not as cost effective since you pay in addition to your bid a fee of 32$ a night plus your processing fee so you actually start out your bid at 47$ for one night, 75 for two nights, 107$ for three nights etc......then you have to add on the "bid" to each night ....so if it went for 30$ lets say...a five night stay would be 160$ + 15$ + 150$ = 325$

if you want to find out what is available per night in Florida .....go to skyauction.com

choose USA & Canada

then choose along the right side Florida

this will bring up all the "florda related" auctions...right now they have some bids per night at hotels and Westgate Resorts ( which is currently at 43$ a night plus do not forget the 32$ per night added on and the one time processing fee )

there are currently 13 pages of auctions .....

but, there are also some nice resorts offered through RSG

go to

http://www2.findweeks.com/?cobrand=90946

you can use that url to check out potential resorts on the RSG auction for your time period.....

RSG auctions usually go on the average of 50$ + 195$ (service fee/tax) + 15$ ( processing fee ) = 260$

then come back here and see what people say about the resort you think you would like to stay in....

Thanks Lawgs, you are full of great information! I'm starting to get this skyauction thing. One more question.....when I checked this morning for the available resorts in Orlando, I did not see any "one night" offers listed. Where on the site did you find this?

Kathy

with the timeshares you are charged $195 +$15 for the entire week - not a nightly charge - the bid is for the entire week

spiceycat

the info on that url posted for Kathy is for a bid per night auction at silver lake, in her original post she was asking about 5 night stay

kathy

all you have to do on skyauction is do a "search"

then i would put in ...

"bid per night" as the key word

the keyword i used to find that url was "silver lake", you could alsoe use "westgate" in the search ( they seem to have bid per night too

if you want to isolate florida you can do that by going to

USA & Canada

on the home page .....when it comes up......

just click on "florida" in the right sidebar

that should bring up all the auctions for floirda
