skyauction question

yay! i won my first skyauction!

but i have a question...

the exchange confirmation says "when you utilize the RCI Exchange system, you are responsible for all taxes, surcharges or additional assessments assessed from the resort."

i thought that's what the $195 was for!

do you think we'll get hit with more charges upon arrival? or is this just for extra stuff, like renting a safe? this was supposed to be a very low budget vacation, and i think DH and i will be unhappily surprised if there's more to pay....

did anyone using skyauction end up paying more at the resort?

Congratulations! You will not pay anything else. I have won four auctions and never had to pay any extra.

some hotels (generally not timeshares) - are now charging fees - these can be anywhere from $6 to $20 per day -

I really wish they won't - if they want more just higher the room charge - but for some reasons they do it this way. then everyone pays more.

I would call the resort you got and ask if they have extra charges.

some resorts in las vegas have to charge the "occupancy tax" on top of the skyauction fee, but have never heard of extra charges in Orlando...

what you quote is probably a "cover your butt" on skyauction's part just in case their are "additional local" charges

it is a timeshare, and it's not in vegas, so things are looking good. the auction closed for just $1, and with a $25 discount code, we're sitting very pretty on this one. sounds likely that there won't be other charges, and i'm sure hoping this is "CYB" as lawgs says. but i guess i'll just call them directly to be sure. thanks all.

I have used SkyAuction before & have never had it on my travel doc's. This past time I did, it said the same thing as yours. I emailed SkyAuction & questioned them. I felt as you did. I didn't like seeing that, especially after knowing that I had paid the $195 for "tax & fees". Hope this makes you feel better. To put your mind at ease, email them too. Here is a copy of the response they sent me:

Hello Sharon

This resort does not have additional fees. If additional fees applied
they would listed under the resort information.
