Skyauction listings ?

I've been checking daily to see if a timeshare for Christmas week would open. Sure enough, today I saw a 1BR at Summer Bay. Too far for us, given the Christmas traffic, but the thing which puzzled me was the fact that it only had 2 hours left until bidding was closed.

How can that be? Don't they list things for more than one day? I'm pretty sure I didn't miss it the day before.

Insights anyone?

Should I be checking every 5-6 hours???? Yikes!

What was the check in date if you don't mind me asking?
Was it a standalone auction or a RSG?

I have been watching Christmas week also (just trying to figure out if the remote chance of Christmas week of 2007 may show up next year, based on 2006 info) and I have NEVER seen Christmas week (Dec 23 check in) ever show up, but i don't check daily though.

Any info. would be appreciated.

yes sometimes this happens - generally closer to the date. Someone says these are last minute cancellations from RCI.

also some of these are listed in the Eastern section and not until the last minute are they listed on the Florida section - I have no ideal why skyauction does this - but it does.

Very interesting....I guess I'll have to check the eastern section. Never thought of that!

riu girl, I'm pretty sure it was for a 12/23 check-in. Could have been 12/22. It was a 1BR at Summer Bay. And when I saw it with 2+ hours left, I'm pretty sure no one had bid on it yet. I've seen Christmas weeks pop up before, not often, and always last minute--usually w/in 1-2 weeks of Christmas, which is why I've been looking this year. We have booked Cypress Pointe Resort with Hotel Kingdom, but a last minute deal with skyauction might be half the price--worth the $20 cancellation fee.
