Hi everyone, could anyone give me any info. on skyauction and how good of a company they are. i was thinking of bidding on hotels. thanks!

I used skyauction this past Spring and was very pleased. I got a 2 bedroom timeshare in Williamsburg VA for $251/week. Since that transaction was painless, I bid again, this time for a Ready, Set, Go Auction. Got that one for $261/week and will be going to Orange Lake Resort by WDW in December. The hotel rooms with the "bid per night" are not as big a bargain. But I did need 2 more nights so I bid on Fantasy World resort in Kissimmee because I could get a 2 bedroom condo. I got that for about $80/night including all fees. Since I needed 2 bedrooms that worked out to be a bargain.
I'm definately sold on skyauction. But I think the word is spreading. It's getting harder to win :( .

for weekly rentals
got a 2 bedroom this year and last year for $260
Also a 2 bedroom in Wis Dells for $235
And a cruise, which was a decent price, but not a steal

I also agree about the single night bids- not a good deal

This is the 5th auction I have won with skyauction...

We have stayed at Orange Lake, Vacation Village Parkway...and now, Travelodge St Pete Beach for a bid of $8 per night for 5 nights...

I agree that most of the time, a bid on a nightly rental is not good.

Weekly resorts are the Best!

We did their READY SET Go auctions and got a 2 bedroom condo for $250 including tax and all fees...Very nice helpful staff and very nice condos.

You can bid with confidence.

so photo bear .....your auction for ready set go .....was "won" for 40$

since service charge and handling fees start you out at 210$????

I've won many weeks, most not over a total of $250. You can't beat their prices and I almost don't want to spread the word. ;)

Next month I'm going to NC with 3 friends for a week. Just us girls, a 3 bedroom condo on a river 30 minutes from the ocean. I can't wait!

so luckyme you are saying that you do not have to bid more than 40$ right...???

I got one for $40 and a few at $50...I wait till late to bid as I think that some people can't just sit there and watch it as I can do.(I'm self employed)

Got Orange Lake on a last minute auction in January(not the Ready Set Go) and were thrilled.

I see it this way, decide what your comfort level is and bid for less.

We got a 2 bedroom condo at Orange Lake for approx. $60 a night Canadian with taxes included. We charge $99 a night for 2 double beds in our motel here in Canada and $950 CND for a week in our chalets so the $60 with all taxes for a great villa is just like money in the bank for us...

I hope that made sense...:p

it made perfect sense ......

we own two weeks at Orange Lake week 51 and 52....but use them for exchanges.....but it costs us a lot more to exchange that the cost of the auction...

if we wanted to exchange back into Orange Lake at a time other than our weeks.....it would cost us maintenance fees+rci exchange fee+rci membership yearly membership fee....which is MUCH more than 260$ ( seems that it does not pay to own when you can "snag" weeks cheaper than owners can get them for )

will definately look into skyauction
