I'm hoping to bid on something at Skyauction which is showing my dates of travel as being available at the start of the auction.

However, since I already have my air tickets, I cannot change my dates at all. What if I win and my check in date is gone? Is there any way to call Skyauction and check to see if it's still available? Has anyone had trouble with their dates being available after buying? What happens if you can't find an acceptable date?

The auction closes at 1 today so I'm hoping to start bidding around 12:50 or so (NJ time). Thanks for any help.

I won a Skyauction last year. By the time the auction ended, the week that we wanted (and was listed on the auction) was no longer available. Skyauction would have refunded my money - but I asked them if they had the same week available in another resort (I listed 3 that I would find acceptable). Luckily, they did and they switched us to another resort - actually one that we liked better than the one for the auction we had won. So it worked out great - tho. it did take a couple of days to work everything out. Good luck with your auction!

If skyauction can't get you what you want - they will either refund your money - or you can make another reservation later.

or they use too!!!

I am a coward - I generally only bid on the ones that are for the dates and resorts I want only....these are generally last minute one - but I live in Al and most of the year work doesn't have a problem with me leaving on last minute trips.

my choice would be the Silver Lakes april 29 - if I were bidding that is one I would go for - so sorry I can't help you.

hope you win it and it will be the dates you want!!!

this is for that November week we're going...remember all the Marriott talks we had last week? Figured I'd see if I could get something even cheaper on Skyauction and then try Marriott at another time.

I wish I could get Orange Lake, since people seem to really like it. Do you really like Silver Lake? I need at least a 2 bdrm for the boys. Can you tell me a bit about it so if I do win and the week we want is unavailable, I can try another resort?

Also, do you know where they usually put Saturday check ins at Vistana?

J.

I haven't stayed at Silver Lake - but lots of people here seem to love it - it is definitely one of the closest non-dvc timeshares to a park - AK.

Fairfield Bonnet Creek might be closer to the Studios - but that is it.

It is on my list.

are you a member of RCI?

I got an unadvertised special thanks tolawyer - for Orange Lake in Sept for $149 for a 2-bedroom. I jumped on it!!! Silver Lake at the time I needed was $700 - now it is $259. I would have gotten it - even at that price - my brother and his family are staying at Celebration World Resort - he is taking the family dog. Silver lakes is much, much closer to them than OL. but hey I should be overjoyed!!!!

I might even be able to talk my nephew and his friend into joining us.

My niece will stay with her dog. (I think)

I haven't check RCI prices for Nov.

remind me of your dates and I will see what prices are on the RCI website.

our dates are November 5-November 12. We're coming down for NJ Teachers' Convention week.

Both those prices are terrific for a 2 bdrm. I have a co-worker whose mom is an RCI owner. I talked to her on Friday and she was going to ask her mom but never got a chance. I hate to be pushy but I might ask her today if you see something on RCI.

there are places available - Cypress Pointe (11-4), Bryan's Spanish Cove (11-5) - but RCI wants close to $400 to $500 for a 2-bedroom.

they seem to be pricing on WDW food and wine festavial - the prices go down after this.

I think you might be better off with skyauction - of course the prices might drop the closer it gets to the time.

I can do a 3 bdrm from HotelKingdom for just over $700 w/ tax included so if it's close to $500 for the 2 bdrm, that's not much of a savings.

Thanks for checking. I had no idea food and wine was near that week. I thought it was later. Might make for a few good meals for me and dh then.

:flower:

edited: Also took a look at the auction again and realized, thankfully, that it closes TOMORROW at 1 PM, which is why the bids are still so very low.

Which airline did you book tickets with?

I book my with southwest for 5/16-20/2005 (plan was 5days 4nights) before I won my auction with Skyauction. But then I won the auction for the Silver lake resort and the latest date I can checkin with was 5/13-20/2005. So I went and cancel my airline reservation online and they gave me full credits of the purchased amounts. Turn around I went and rebooked the fight for 5/13-20/2005 with the credits without any fees or penalties. The credits is good for one years of the date of cancelation and you can use it to book SWA for anyone and go anywhere. I had done this many times already without any problems. GL
