Last year we booked a condo through skyauction and someone had given us a code to use for discount, does anyone know of a code that is available at this time that they generously ;) want to share?

Also, has anyone ever bid on two consecutive weeks at the same complex and gotten it? We stayed one week at one place and the next week at another last year thinking it would be "fun" to see two places. It was not. Packing and moving in the middle of the trip was bad enough, including losing my 2 year olds baby blanket and never finding it (my only gripe with Orange Lake) and then checking into Westgate which was far inferior to Orange Lake.

This year we are again going for 2 weeks and want to stay at the same resort for both. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I am sorry but I can not help you out with a code.
I do have a question. I have been hearing about this skyauction.
What exactly is it? How does it work? How do you bid?
We are planning our trip next August(2004) and want to stay at the vistana for about a week.
Can you give any advice/tips for this?
Thanks

hi lisam,

Sorry, can't answer your question about the code--I didn't even know they were available for Skyauction! I'm just thrilled with the deals we got! :D

Regarding bidding on consecutive weeks, this was my experience. Weeks ago I found that OLCC was coming up for one of the 2 weeks we wanted on the Ready Set Go auctions. We went ahead and bid/won an RSG auction and reserved that week. I wasn't sure if we'd be able to pick up the second week at OLCC, using RSG or any other means for that matter (Christmas week). But we figured we'd make other reservations that could be cancelled in the event we got lucky. Anyway, I recently checked out the 2 bdrm. suite/Orlando auctions and saw that our week was available! We ended up having to bid higher than I was hoping to win the second auction, but in the long run it's definitely worth it, and we have 2 consecutive weeks. I figured it out and it's costing us $48 per night average for the 2 week period--can't beat that for a full kitchen, washer/dryer, 2 bdrms., etc., especially over the holidays! I'm hoping that OLCC will allow us to stay in the same villa both weeks.

You didn't mention when you are planning to go...I did notice that the week of Christmas wasn't available yesterday on the current auctions. Whenever you're going, good luck bidding! Hope you guys get what you want!!:D

hi andychris14,

Check out www.skyauction.com

You can bid on airline tickets, hotel/resort accomodations, cruises, etc. I have seen the Vistana come up this summer on Skyauction, but their inventory changes all the time so there's no guarantee the Vistana will be available next August, but it's definitely worth looking into. If I were you, I would watch Skyauction closely and familiarize yourself with the site before bidding. Good luck! :D

this is where RCI has started to put its excess inventory - they use to let members have it at a discount - but they made more money (sometimes) renting it to the public

you must be patience -

the resort you want might not show up until 90 to 60 days before you want it - sometimes it will be 30 days. Understand that and don't start to panick if you can't find something immediately.

this is part of RCI - RCI does not own any of this resorts - some of these are owned by the resorts - their excess inventory - some (despite what RCI says) are own by members who exchanged to somewhere else. that is why there are hotels mixed in with the timeshares.

boy when I am wrong I am wrong - there are some deals now

if you can leave next week

http://www.skyauction.com/action/offer?OFFER_ID=771609
or
http://www.skyauction.com/action/offer?OFFER_ID=771577

this is also a good price (my opinion)
http://www.skyauction.com/action/offer?OFFER_ID=771431

you need to add $195 and I think $39 to the price - this is for a week in a 2-bedroom.

I won't bid on anything above $160 - you can go the increasing bid way (like ebay) with you starting a lower price and it going up if anyone else bids - just make you your higher amount is not to high.

Thanks all!

I will keep my eyes open for that code if any exist anymore. It was for $50.00 off and so we got one of our weeks for less then the $195.00 fee and the second week for $204.00 total. It was great...not that it is not a great deal anyways.

Skyauction.com is great. The Ready, Set, Go auctions seem to be the way to go. I have not seen Vistana on one yet but I have seen auctions for just Vistana or ones where you pick a resort in Florida and that is one of the choices.

We are going in Sept. It is looking like Sept. 20th thru October 4th. I bid on an auction but I have yet to make my ressies. If I make a reservation and then by chance decide to change either weeks or locations can you do that? Any one ever had to do this?

Good luck all and thanks again!

Lisa
